THIS IS AN EXERCISE. THIS IS ONLY AN EXERCISE.
There are 19 evacuation zones located in the five counties in the 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) for the McGuire Nuclear Power Station. The zones, identified by the counties, communities, evacuation routes and corresponding reception centers are as follows:
ZONE A - Mecklenburg County
Includes the communities of Bahia Bay, Davidson Landing, Island Forest, Island View, Point Largo, and Meck Neck; Lake Norman and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Tuskarora Terrace, Torrence Chapel Road, Bethel Church Road, Jetton Road, Bell Isle Drive, Westmoreland Road and NC73. The zone is bordered to the west by the Catawba River and the Meck./Lincoln County line, to the north by the Meck./Iredell County line, to the east by I-77 and to the south by the Catawba River and Lake Norman Island.
EVACUATION ROUTES: I-77 North to exit 45 OR Brawley School Road north to Williamson Road north to NC 150. NC 150 east to I-77. North on I-77 to Exit 42 to Troutman Middle School, Troutman Elementary School and South Iredell High School.
ZONE B - Mecklenburg County
Includes the Bayshore community. This zone includes Lake Norman, McGuire Nuclear Station/Energy Explorium and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Browns Cove, Hagers Ferry Road and NC 73. The zone is bordered to the west by the Meck./Lincoln County line, to the north by the
Catawba River/Lake Normal Island, to the east by NC 73, and to the south by NC 73.
EVACUATION ROUTE: NC 73 to Sam Furr Road to NC 73 East to Trinity Church Road to Northwest Cabarrus High School and Northwest Cabarrus Middle School.
ZONE C - Mecklenburg County
This zone includes the Catawba River, Hicks Crossroads, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Hilbeard Road, Stephens Road, Stevens Road, and Beatties Ford Road. The zone is bordered to the west by the Catawba River and Meck./Lincoln County line, to the north by NC 73, to the east by Beatties Ford Road, and to the south by Stevens Road.
EVACUATION ROUTE: Beatties Ford Road south to I-77 South to I-85 to NC 49. East to UNCC.
ZONE D - Mecklenburg County
This zone includes McDowell's Creek and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Neck Road, Gilead Road, Bud Henderson Road, and McCoy Road. The zone is bordered to the west by the Catawba River and Meck./Gaston County line, to the north by NC 73 and Sam Furr Road, to the east by I-77 and McCoy Road, and to the south by Sample Road.
EVACUATION ROUTE: Beatties Ford Road south to I-77 South to I-85 to NC 49. East to UNCC.
ZONE E - Mecklenburg County
This zone includes Mountain Island Lake/Dam, Coulwood, Oakdale, Shuffletown, and Westbourne, Long Creek Elementary School, Calvary Christian School, Coulwood Middle School, Oakdale Elementary School, Paw Creek Elementary School, Hornet's Nest Elementary School and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Beatties Ford Road, Mt. Holly/Huntersville Road, NC 16, Brookshire Blvd., Mr. Holly Road, Valleydale Road, Belhaven Road, Old Plank Road, Pleasant Grove Road, Oakdale Road, Kelly Road, and Sunset Road. The zone is bordered to the west by the Catawba River and Meck./Gaston County line, to the north by SR 2125, to the est by Beatties Ford Road, and to the south by Mr. Holly/Oakdale Roads.
EVACUATION ROUTE: NC 27, NC 16, or Beatties Ford Road south to I-85 or NC 49, east to UNCC.
ZONE F - Mecklenburg County
This zone includes Croft, the Oaks Nursing Center, Alexander Jr. High School, North Meck. High School, Huntersville State Prison, Huntersville Business Park, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: I-77, US 21, NC 115, Alexanderana Road, Lakeview Road, Reames Road, Hicks Road, Eastfield Road, Asbury Chapel Road, and Mt. Holly/Hunters-ville/Concord Road. The zone is bordered to the west by Beatties Ford and McCoy Roads, to the north by Huntersville/ Concord Roads, to the east by Eastfield and Browne Roads, and to the south by David Cox Road and NC 115.
EVACUATION ROUTE: US 21, I-77, or Beatties Ford Road south to I-85 to NC 49 east OR W.T. Harris Blvd. to NC 49 East to UNCC.
ZONE G - Mecklenburg County
This zone includes Caldwell Station, Huntersville, Huntersville Elementary School, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Washam-Potts Road, Bailey Road, Rocky River Road, Grey Road, Davidson-Concord Road, Mayes road, NC 73, Sam Furr Road, McCord Road, Stumptown Road, Ramah Church Road, and McAuley Road. The zone is bordered to the west by I-77, to the north by city limits of Cornelius/ Davidson and Grey Road, to the east by the Meck./Cabarrus County line, and to the south by Huntersville/Concord Road.
EVACUATION ROUTE: NC 73 east to I-85, east to Trinity Church Road, north to Northwest Cabarrus High School and Northwest Cabarrus Middle School.
ZONE H - Mecklenburg County
This zone includes Cornelius, Davidson, Davidson Elementary School, Davidson College, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Griffith Street, NC 115, NC 73. The zone is bordered to the west by I-77, to the north by the Meck./Iredell County line, to the east by Grey Road, and to the south by Cornelius and the Davidson city limits.
EVACUATION ROUTE: I-77 North to exit 45 to Troutman Middle School, Troutman Elementary School, and South Iredell High School.
ZONE I - Iredell County
This zone includes Long Camp and Mayhew areas of Lake Norman, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Mayhew Road, Brawley School Road, Wally Road, Yacht Club Road, and Isle of Pines Road. The zone is bordered to the west by the Iredell/Lincoln/Catawba County lines, to the north by Brawley School road, to the east ny Shearer;s Road, and to the south by the Iredell/Meck. County line.
EVACUATION ROUTE: Brawley School Road north to Williamson Road north to NC 150 east to I-77. North on I-77 to Exit 42, to Troutman Middle School, Troutman Elementary School, and South Iredell High School.
ZONE J - Iredell County
This zone includes Mount Mourne, Mount Mourne Elementary School, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: I-77, Langtree Road, Templeton Road, Catalina Drive, Faith Road, NC 115 and Presbyterian Road. The zone is bordered to the west by Reeds Creek, to the north by the Mooresville city limits, to the east by Shearer's Road, and to the south by the Iredell/Meck. County line.
EVACUATION ROUTES: For the Mt. Mourne community: NC 115 to Fairview Road to I-77 north to Exit 42. For the communities of Langtree, Queens Cove, and Catalina: Alcove Road north to SR1109 east to I-77 north to exit 42 to Troutman Middle and Elementary Schools, and South Iredell High School.
ZONE K - Catawba County
This zone includes the Keisters Store area, Lake Norman, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Burris Road, Slanting Bridge Road. The zone is bordered to the west by Grassy Creek Road, to the north by Mountain Creek, to the east by the Catawba/Iredell County line, to the south by the Catawba/Lincoln County line.
EVACUATION ROUTE: Sherrills Ford Road (SR1848) northwest OR NC16 north to Buffalo Shoals Road (SR1003) North to Bandys High School.
ZONE L - Lincoln County
This zone includes Cowans Ford Dam, Lake Norman, Cowens Ford Country Club, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Nellie Circle, Cowans Ford Dam Road (SR1395). The zone is bordered to the west by Pilot Knob Road, to the north by Hagers Ferry Road, to the east by the Lincoln/Meck. County line, and to the south by NC 73.
EVACUATION ROUTES: NC73 west to NC27, west through Lincolnton to courthouse, follow circle to North Aspen Street to Lincolnton Middle School.

NC16 North to NC150 west to East Maiden Road to US321. US321 North to West Maiden Road to West "D" Street to Maiden High School.
OR
NC73 west to NC27 west through Lincolnton to Shoal Road (SR1002) to West Lincoln Middle School.
ZONE M - Lincoln County
This zone includes the Catawba River and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Caswell Road, Lowesville Meadow Road. The zone is bordered to the west by Killian Road, to the north by NC 73, to the east by the Lincoln/Meck. County line, and to the south by the Lincoln/ Gaston County line.
EVACUATION ROUTES: NC73 west to NC27 west through Lincolnton to courthouse, follow circle to North Aspen Street to Lincolnton Senior High School.

ZONE N - Lincoln County
This zone includes Triangle, Westport, Catawba Springs Elementary School, Lakewood Care Center, westport Golf Course, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: NC16, Green Cove, Lakeshore Drive, Unity Church Road, Graham Road, Rock Springs Circle, Cherry Point Road, Water Oak Road. The zone is bordered to the west by Little Egypt Road, Optimist Club Road, and NC 16, to the north by Fairfield Church, to the east by the Lincoln/Meck. County line, and to the south by Hagers Ferry Road.
EVACUATION ROUTE: NC73 west to NC27 west through Lincolnton to courthouse, follow circle to North Aspen Street to Lincolnton Middle School.
ZONE O - Lincoln County
This zone includes Lowesville, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: NC 16, Little Egypt Road, Pilot Knob Road, Old Plank Road, McIntosh Road, Sifford Road. The zone is bordered to the west by Dellinger Road, Old Plank Road, and Ingleside Farm Road, to the north by NC 73, to the east by Killian Road, and to the south by the Lincoln/Gaston County line.
EVACUATION ROUTE: NC16 North to NC150 west to East Maiden Road to US321. US321 North to West Maiden Road to West "D" Street to Maiden High School.
ZONE P - Lincoln County
This zone includes Denver, Kidville, Webbs, Westport, East Lincoln High School, East Lincoln Middle School, and Rock Springs Elementary School, and the area surrounding the following roads and intersections: Beth Haven Church Road, Vesuvius Furnace Road, Wingate Hill Road, Forney Hill Road, Schronce Road, Ingleside Farm Road, Campground Road, Executive Circle, Pine Ridge Drive, Webbs Chapel Road, Little Creek Road, Burton Lane. The zone is bordered to the west by Amity Church Road and King Wilkerson Road, to the north by the Lincoln/Catawba County line, to the east by the Lincoln/ Iredell County line, Little Egypt Road and NC 16, and to the south by NC 73.
EVACUATION ROUTES: NC27 west through Lincolnton to courthouse, follow circle to North Aspen Street to Lincolnton Senior High School, Lincolnton Middle School, and Battleground Elementary School.

NC16 North to NC150 west to East Maiden Road to US321. US321 North to West Maiden Road to West "D" Street to Maiden High School.
ZONE Q - Lincoln County
This zone includes the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Brevard Place Road, Paysour Pond Road, Ritchie Lane, Dale Lane, Mt. Zion Church Road, Sadler Road, Mariposa Road, Rick Hollar Road, Rumfelt Road, Hines Circle Road, Old Plank Road. The zone is bordered to the west by Brevard Place Road, Leepers Creek, to the north by NC 73, to the east by Dellinger Road, Old Plank Road, and Ingleside Farm Road, and to the south by the Lincoln/Gaston County line.
EVACUATION ROUTES: NC27 or NC73 west through Lincolnton to courthouse, follow circle to North Aspen Street to Lincolnton Senior High School and Battleground Elementary School.

NC27 west through Lincolnton to Shoal Road (SR1002) to West Lincoln Senior High School.
ZONE R - Gaston County
This zone includes Duke Power Village, Lucia, Mountain Island Lake, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Killian Road Horseshoe Bend Beach Road. The zone is bordered to the west by NC 16, to the north by the Gaston/Lincoln County line, and to the east and south by the Catawba River and Gaston/Meck. County line.
EVACUATION ROUTE: NC273 south to Belmont, to South Point Road, south to South Point High School.
ZONE S - Gaston County
This zone includes Alexis, Mount Holly, Stanley, Mountain Island Dam, Catawba River, O.L. Kiser Elementary School, Mount Holly Junior High School, Springfield Elementary School, Stanley Junior High School, and the areas surrounding the following roads and intersections: Alexis Lucia Road, Airport Road, Mariposa Road, Abernathy Drive, Blacksnake Road, Sandy Ford road, Old NC 27, Lowland Dairy Road, Woodlawn Avenue, NC 273, NC 27, Charlotte Avenue, Catawba Avenue. The zone is bordered to the west by NC 27, Hovis Road, to the north by the Gaston/Lincoln County line, to the east by NC 16, and to the south by the Catawba River and Gaston/Meck. County line and Mt. Holly city limits.
EVACUATION ROUTES: NC273 south to Belmont, to South Point High School.
