Hymn 2 – Just As I Am

Just as I am without one plea,

But that Thy blood was shed for me,

And that Thou bidd’st me come to Thee,

O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am and waiting not,

To rid my soul of one dark blot,

To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,

O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am tho’ tossed about,

With many a conflict, many a doubt,

Fightings and fears within, without,

O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind,

Sight, riches, healing of the mind,

Yea, all I need, in Thee to find,

O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,

Wilt welcome pardon cleanse, receive,

Because Thy promise I believe,

O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

Hymn 3 – There Shall Be Showers of Blessing

There shall be showers of blessing,

This is the promise of love,

There shall be seasons refreshing,

Sent from the Saviour above.

Chorus: Showers of blessing,

Showers of blessing we need,

Mercy drops rounds are falling,

But for the showers we plead.

There shall be showers of blessing,

Precious reviving again,

Over the hills and the valleys,

Sound of abundance of rain.

Chorus

There shall be showers of blessing,

Send them upon us O Lord,

Grant to us now a refreshing,

Come and now honour Thy Word.

Chorus

There shall be showers of blessing,

Oh, that today they might fall,

Now as to God we’re confessing,

Now as on Jesus we call.

For the son of Thy love,

For Jesus who died,

And is now gone above.

Revive us again.

We praise Thee, O God!

For Thy Spirit of light,

Who has shown us our Saviour,

And scattered our night.

Chorus

All glory and praise,

To the Lamb that was slain,

Who has borne all our sins,

And hath cleansed every stain.

STUDY 1 (MIRACLE SERVICE)

THE MIRACLE OF REVIVAL

Text: 2Kings 13:21, Ezek. 37:1-10, Psa. 85:1-13. 2 Kings 13:21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet; Ezek 37:1-10 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

Revival is God’s coming to man to help him understand things about the spirit of God and all his rights and privileges in the Lord Jesus Christ. Revival is of God when man cooperates to bring forth the revival. One of the greatest prayers in the bible is in the book of Psalms, David says “will thou not revive us again that your people may rejoice in you” (Psa. 85:6). This is one of the greatest benefits of a revival. Joy comes in when things work well. There is nothing greater in the world to bring revival. This prayer of David shows that when you remember the past and God does it again you will enjoy and rejoice in Him.

So many things often happen when there is a revival. For those of you who are weeping, weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning when revival takes place (Psalm 30:5). In a revival, God turns mourning into dancing, God takes off your sad cloth and guards with gladness (Psalm 30:5, Isa. 61:1-4). In a revival, you can know a joyful sound even the pastors shall be clothed with salvation and the saints shall shout aloud with joy (Psalm 132:9). When you look at the church generally today, not many people are singing so well in the way of the Lord. Holiness does not mean much to many people. But when a revival happens you will be able to sing in the way of the Lord (Psalm 138:5).

So many things can happen in a revival. When there is a revival you will begin to rejoice before God according to the joy in harvest and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil (Isaiah 9:3). It’s such a wonderful time that you feel this is it, God is doing a great thing. When there is a revival, the meek shall increase their joy in the Lord and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy one of Israel (Isaiah 29:19). Why will this happen? It will happen because God is moving among men. He’s doing a great thing for His everlasting glory. When there is a revival, God says “the wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them and the desert shall rejoice and blossom, it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing” (Isaiah 35:1-2). This is a manifestation of God’s revival and then if you have been born again. This is what God will give you in a revival time. “The ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with songs, and everlasting joy upon their heads, they shall obtain joy and gladness and sorrow and sighing shall flee away” (Isaiah 35:10). When will this happen? This will happen when there is a revival. So many things can happen in a revival because the power of revival cuts across every area of human endeavours, spiritual, mental, emotional, carnal, all these things happen. This is why you need to pray seriously for a revival today.

You do not have to pray even for other things. When God revives you, it brings those things as part of the package that comes with the revival. What are some of the things that can literally happen in a revival?

1. Physical Miracle: 2Kings 13:21

Every time there is a revival, physical healing that comes literally often happen. The blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, those are signs of the power of God and the presence of the Lord. In crusades across the world just as it happened in the New Testament times, God will visit His people and bring such physical healing. He does so to demonstrate His power and His love so that people can be convinced and be born again (1Cor. 2:4, John 4:48). God doesn’t do for a show off. He is not doing it to elevate the minister who is simply an instrument of God. Rather, He is doing it that people may be convinced of His person and can put their faith in His only begotten son (John 4:48). This is the ultimate purpose of any revival and of any miracle for that matter.

When God begins to revive, expect physical healing to happen. Expect diseases to run away. Expect wrong things to be brought to normal. Expect biology to be overridden by the power of the bible. Expect unthinkable things to happen. Expect all these things because when God visit His people, He doesn’t come like man. He comes with power and His authorities through His angels to work miracles (Exo. 3:8). When Jesus was physically here, these miracles were happening because He brought a revival into the church and the age of miracle has not passed as some people want us to think. God is the same God yesterday, today and forever and His power has never changed (Mal. 3:6). So trust God for an unbelievable physical healing now.

2. Spiritual Healing: Rom. 15:13, 2Cor. 1:12, 2Cor. 6:10, 2Cor.7:4

Spiritual healing is the greatest power of a revival. Many believers are sorrowful and unhappy about so many things. There are those who are merely enduring the faith instead of enjoying the faith. During the time of revival, God’s manifestation becomes more real. Even those who are sorrowful will always rejoice (2Corinthians 6:10). Those who are poor will be making many rich and those who have nothing will see themselves as possessing all in Christ (2Corinthians 6:10). The power of revival is the one that comforts you and fills you with joy in all afflictions (2Corinthians 7:4). How can someone be always having trials and is the happiest person on earth. This is not normal under any condition but in a time of revival, this is exactly what happens (2Corinthians 8:2). In a time of revival, there is so much of God’s way, it gives understanding, we know we have explanation and even if there are certain things we cannot deal with or an unanswered prayers they are not strong enough to take us away from the things of God so that even with that we can take pleasure in infirmities, reproaches, in necessities, even in persecutions for the sake of Christ (2Corinthians 12:10). During the time of revival, there is so much of the manifestation of the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22). And not only this, you will be able to rejoice always because you are strengthened according to the glorious power of the Lord (Philippians 4:4, Colossians 1:11). In a time of revival, it’s easy to follow the Lord rather than follow people (I Thessalonians 1:6). And to count it all joy even when you fall into diverse temptations (James 1:12). Perhaps the most important or greatest manifestation of the spiritual miracle in a revival time, is when you haven’t seen the Lord but you love Him and you have the faith so you are always rejoicing not just with joy but with joy unspeakable and full of glory (I Peter 1:8). This is because a revival allows you to see yourself as much as a partaker of Christ’s suffering and you are confident that when His glory shall be revealed. You will be glad also with exceeding joy (I Peter 4:13). These and many, many other things are what come to you during the time of revival. And this is why you need to pray for a revival.
