The instructor allows for and encourages debate and provides a safe culture for conflicting opinions to be expressed.
Dr Elovitz way of teaching the course is extremely informative.
Dr. Elovitz has proven to be a knowledgeable professor, one who is able to display a wide array of theoretical concepts as well as appropriate applications he has lived through in his experience as an administrator.
Dr. Elovitz uses his past experiences to help explain concepts that are discuss to make for an easier understanding
Future consideration, instead of mid term / final have students collaborate and present to utilize higher order in Blooms
I find the course material very stimulating, which is (?) by his encouragement to get us to be change agents. Minor pt. getting powerpoint materials in advance of the class would be more helpful than after.
Grading:
Suggestion: Encourage more team-building activities toward our final grade rather than using the mid – term & final which count for:
{30% - Midterm
{40% - Final
20% Research Paper
10% Participation
Dr Elovitz’s knowledge of the subject matter significantly facilitates in the imparting of the subject matter to students. This combined with his experience, makes the learning a very viable active process.
Dr. Elovitz has considerable knowledge and experience and has utilized that experience to help his students. He is extremely competent.
I respect him as an educator one negative thing that sticks in my mind is that he inferred bias against “gays” when he joked & said he did not sit next to our Ex Governor . I didn’t think it was proper, respectful or professional. I was insulted & felt bad – he doesn’t who might be gay among his students –
I am very impressed with Dr. Elovitz’s efforts to make this a collegial learning environment and experience. He invites us into the learning process and then facilitates our acquisition of concepts built upon the framework of fact and references he previously provided.
