Andrew Achsen trained classically in England at The Joan White English Theatre School and in New York with Lloyd Richards. In addition, he studied at Stella Adler Acting Studio and at The Circle in the Square.
Andrew was a company member of the Riverside Shakespeare Company and appeared in the Riverside Shakespeare Company/New York Shakespeare Festival productions of Brecht’s Edward II (Bishop/Archbishop), as well as in the Summer City Park Tours of
Comedy of Errors (Dromio E.) and Twelfth Night (Feste).
When he wasn’t playing baseball in Paternity starring Burt Reynolds, or learning to speak English in Sophie’s Choice starring Meryl Streep, Andrew could be found delivering pizza, taking confession and serving hot-crossed buns on the soap opera
The Edge of Night.
Other roles Off-Off Broadway included Doctor Nicky in Chekhov’s Platonov starring Victor Slezak, the manservant Gregory in the musical Jane Eyre with Alyssa Milano, and Moon in Anything Goes starring Mary Murfit.
During a 30-year career in advertising, Andrew has continued to work occasionally doing voice-overs for Amex, NPR and Andersen Consulting; producing and performing in a musical charity benefit with Michael Feinstein; and, most recently, appearing on talk shows, including Good Morning America, discussing Baby Boomers in the Workplace.
In 2007, Andrew was featured on the PBS show In The Life in the Voices of Pride segment
Pedro Ruiz: Pas de Deux.
