B Objectives

What is the main purpose for this course?
Students are expected to
·  improve their pronunciation of English consonants and vowels in words and sentences.
·  accurately define and use terminology related to phonetics.
·  describe the manner and place characteristics of vowels and consonants.
·  use transcription conventions appropriately when transcribing words.
·  correctly pronounce phonetic transcriptions including different stress patterns . mark syllabic stress patterns accurately.
· 
Briefly describe any plans for developing and improving the course that are being implemented :
·  Increased use of technology (power point, some websites and data show)
·  Consistently change the list of topics to be up to date and contemporary to motivate the students
