PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, The Clinic Manager is responsible for the effective, efficient operation of the clinic that results in excellence in customer service and clinical care and provides a medical home to its patients. The clinic manager will assist in developing and implementing consistent clinical processes that measurably improve achievement of standards in preventive care and chronic disease management among the population of patients served by the care team. Will work collaboratively with the Management Team in establishing clinical and service standards and processes for the organization that result in the clinic being certified as a patient centered medical home.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of program services, client needs and management techniques. Knowledge of business office administrative procedures. Use and operation of standard and complex office equipment. Knowledge of 1974 Privacy Act is required as use of patient record is an integral part of the position and privacy of individuals must be protected to the fullest. Knowledge of regulations and requirements. Knowledge of Alaskan cultures.

Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple requests by patients, families, and team members. Skill in effectively managing and leading staff, and delegating tasks and authority. Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands. Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications. Skill in organization, problem solving, priority setting and deadline accomplishment.

Ability to perform job with minimum supervision, maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

AA Degree in Healthcare Administration Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Minimum of 3 years responsible admin. Office exp., including 2 years of supervisory exp. Exp. with site support of clinical and non-clinical workforce preferred. Exp. working with the Alaska Native Tribal Healthcare System preferred. Exp. in cross culture setting preferred.
