GARY HUNTER

Gary Hunter is the current chairman of the Maclay Board of Trustees. He graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia Law School, where he also received his undergraduate degree. He is a partner at Hopping, Green and Sams, where he concentrates his practice on land use, environmental and property rights litigation, and government affairs. He is an immediate past chair of the Second Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, and the past chair of the Florida Bar Environmental & Land Use Law Section. He currently serves as the Marauder’s Middle School head football coach and played an integral part in bringing the football program to Maclay in 2006. In his role as Vice Chair, Gary is heading the Long Term and Strategic Planning Committee for Maclay School. He and his wife Meredith have two

children at Maclay, Olivia (’14) and Tripp (’17).

NANCY DEAL

Nancy Deal is the Florida State Government Executive in the IBM Sales and Distribution organization. She has spent more than 25 years in the Information Technology industry and sits on the Florida Chamber of Commerce Innovation Caucus, a member of Florida Tax Watch and the Florida Research Consortium. She is graduate of Florida State and she and her husband Sammy have Matt who is completing his sophomore year. Nancy has been very active at Maclay, including serving on the football booster board and this last year on the technology committee.

LAMONT COOK

A native of Quincy, Florida, Lamont Cook is a general contractor and President/Co-Owner of Cook Brothers, Inc., one of the top construction companies in North Florida, South Georgia, and Alabama. He attended Florida State University and continues to be an avid supporter of the Seminole Boosters. Lamont played an integral role in the startup of the Maclay football program and is in his first year on the Board of Trustees at Maclay School. Lamont and his wife, Johnnie, have twins, Austin and Bailey (’16), who have been at Maclay since Pre-K. They attend St. Peter’s Anglican Church.

WILLIAM LAMB

Tallahassee native William Lamb is one of three Maclay graduates on the Board of Trustees. He is a graduate of Samford University, where he received his degree in Business. William is a managing partner with Red Hill Capital and the owner, artist, and designer of Wm. Lamb & Sons. The local artist is an active member of St. Peter's Anglican Church, The Exchange Club of Tallahassee, and Tall Timbers, Inc. William is married to Maclay graduate Margaret Smith Lamb, and they have two children at Maclay, Will (’18) and Molly, who is in Pre-K.

KAREN UNGER

Karen Unger is a graduate of the University of Florida and currently serves as a member of the UF Alumni Association Board of Directors. She was the Florida Senior Advisor for Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s 2008 Presidential campaign and the Campaign Manager for Gov. Jeb Bush as well as served in Gov.Bush’s administration. She has been on the Advancement committee and most recently chaired the very fun Maclay Auction. She and her husband Jason have two children in Lower School, Olivia and Griffin.

STAN BARNES

Stan Barnes is a managing partner and financial advisor with Allen, Mooney & Barnes Advisors LLC. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Washington and Lee University and his Masters of Business Administration from Emory University. Stan chairs the Investment Committee of the Big Bend Hospice Foundation and is the chairman of the Leon County Oversight Committee. He is also Chairman of the Board for the Community Foundation of North Florida and is a board member of the Boy Scouts of America Suwannee River Area Council. Stan and his wife, Tenley, who is a former Maclay Board Trustees member, have had two children graduate from Maclay. Both Travis (’06) and Colson (’08) are currently attending the University of Georgia in Athens.

ROB LANGFORD

Maclay Alum Rob Langford is the President and Broker for Southern Forestry Realty, where he specializes in assisting buyers and sellers in analyzing, valuing, and negotiating the sale or purchase of large acreage tracts of land in North Florida, South Georgia, and South Alabama. He has many ties to the community and is a valuable volunteer dedicating time to the Tall Timbers Research Station, Exchange Club, Colonel's Club, and St Peter's Anglican Church. Rob leads the Advancement team for the Board of Trustees. He and his wife Jennifer have three children: FSU student Madison, and Maclay students Luke (’15) and Lewis (’16).

JOHN FOOTE

John has lived in Tallahassee since 1983, when he came to attend Florida State University as an undergraduate. He is a graduate of the FSU College of Law and has been a practicing attorney since 1990. As a partner with Fonvielle Lewis Foote & Messer, John specializes in general civil litigation and personal injury law. He is a member the Board of Directors for the Red Hills Horse Trials and also coaches youth sports teams. John is married to a Maclay alum and an accomplished equestrian rider, Debbie Schwartz Foote, and they have three daughters, Alexa (’15), McKenna (’17), and Laura Kathryn (‘20).

CHRIS DIAMANTIS

Chris Diamantis is the newest member of the Maclay Board of Trustees. A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, Chris attended Florida State University where he graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. Chris is the chairman and CEO of Integrated Financial Settlements, Inc., the country’s largest provider of structured settlements and wholly owns Millennium Settlements of Tallahassee, EPS Settlements Group in Denver and Structured Financial Associates in Atlanta. An active member of the community, Chris previously served on the Florida College of Business Board of Governors and currently on the Board of the Seminole Boosters. He also sits on the board of The Gabor Agency, Inc, Esquire Bank, and Counsel Financial Services. Chris and his wife Andrea, who chaired the 2010 Maclay Auction, have been passionate supporters of the Boys Town of North Florida as well as various events and sports programs at Maclay School. They have two children: Nikki, who graduated in Maclay’s Class of 2012; and Jake, Class of 2015.

MONESIA BROWN

Monesia Brown attended Illinois State University and earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She worked for Gov. Charlie Christ as the Director of the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovations and Florida Department of Legal Affairs along with serving as general counsel for Gov. Bush. Monie has been on the technology committee for the last two years, and she and her husband have two boys in lower school, Jay and Evan.

JENNIFER LaVIA

Jennifer LaVia is a graduate of Duke University, where she received her bachelor’s degree before attending the University of Florida to pursue a degree in law. She is currently a law professor for Florida State University’s College of Law where she teaches Legal Writing & Research, Ethics, Civil Rights, and Topics in Florida Practice. Prior to joining the FSU faculty, she worked for Holland & Knight in Tallahassee, where she focused on appellate practice and ethics. As a native of Tallahassee, Jennifer is very involved in many community organizations such as the Boys Town of North Florida, and she serves as secretary for Boys Town. Jennifer, a Maclay alum, and her husband Jay have a daughter, who graduated from Maclay and now attends Wake Forest University, and a son who is in high school at Maclay.

RIP KIRBY

Tuscaloosa, Alabama, native Rip Kirby attended University of the South, where he received his bachelor’s degree and later received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Alabama. He is the owner of Rehab Technologies, LLC, a provider of durable medical equipment and currently sits on the boards of Prime Meridian Bank, Tall Timbers Research, Inc., and is actively involved in the Exchange Club and a variety of other industries including mortgage brokerage and timber. Rip is married to Maclay alum, the former Kelly Boyd, and they have three girls, Katherine (’13), Jean (’15), and Anne (’17).

TOM DEISON

Tallahassee native Tom Deison attended the University of Alabama for his undergraduate studies and then earned his MBA from Florida State University. He also attended the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Tom is an owner and president of Regional Investment Fund, Inc., a local private equity fund. Tom is a member of the local board of Branch Banking and Trust, the Exchange Club, and the Tallahassee Board of Realtors. He is married to Allison H. Deison, and they have three children, Hunt, (9), Oakley, (6), and Mae, (3).

JILL MEENAN

Jill Meenan grew up in a military family before settling in Tallahassee in 1979 to attend Florida State University. She met her husband, Tim, while here at school. An interesting little known fact is that Jill and Tim were back-to-back Student Body Presidents at Florida State. Jill got her degree in English and paralegal studies and went to work in a law firm and later the Department of Insurance and Department of Education. In 1993 she became Deputy Director of Florida Healthy Kids, where she worked until she decided to stay home full time in 1998. Jill has spent numerous hours working for community-oriented organizations such as Goodwood, Boys and Girls Town, Mary Brogan Museum of Arts and Sciences, March of Dimes, and Workforce 2000. But all pale in comparison to the time, sweat, and dedication she has shown to Maclay School. Her sons, Mac, Clay, and TJ, have kept her involved in the classrooms and athletic arenas. She is currently on the Football Boosters Board, and she and Tim will be chairs of the Basketball Boosters Board this year. She has been involved in many committees for the MPO and Maclay auction.

KATHY DAHL

Kathy Dahl returns to the Board of Trustees after completing a term in 2007. Her leadership and commitment to Maclay School continues to be an invaluable asset to the Board. A native of Miami, Kathy has lived in Tallahassee for over 30 years. She received her degree in Advertising from Florida State and worked for Delta Airlines for 14 years. Kathy is an active member of the community serving as a past board member for the Children’s Miracle Network and a member of the Junior League. She and her husband Jim are active supporters of Florida State University, The Boys Town of North Florida, Wounded Warriors, the East End Group, The Ovarian Cancer Research Group, LeMoyne, and the Tallahassee Tennis Challenge. Kathy has been passionately involved with Maclay School for the last 21 years serving as the basketball and Genesis Dance team booster member, chairing the school’s auction in 2000 and most recently as the co-chair for acquisitions in the 2010 Auction which was the most successful fundraiser in school history. Kathy’s twin boys, Chad and Chase(’05) graduated from Duke University. Her daughter Rainey (’10) is a junior at Duke this year.

HANK HUTCHINSON

Hank Hutchinson went to Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University before attending University of Texas Medical School of San Antonio. He has been an Orthopedic Trauma surgeon for the last 11 years and has been on staff at TOC since 2007. He has been an avid supporter of Maclay including being involved in our Annual Fund telethons, and he and his wife Kelly have three children at Maclay that next year will be in lower, middle, and upper school.
