Title: Account Executive

Department: Member-Investor Services

Reports To: Sales Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

FLSA: Exempt

Salary Grade: Commission

Position Summary:

The Account Executive’s primary role is to recruit new member-investors by promoting the positive aspects of Chamber membership, and how the Chamber can positively impact the development and growth of businesses throughout Chattanooga and Hamilton County. The Account Executive is also responsible for selling expo booths and various Chamber products and services to member-investors.

Essential Functions:

Ø Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Chamber’s mission and how it directly applies to existing and prospective members.

Ø Develop, implement and maintain a personal sales action plan.

Ø Collaborate with Sales Manager and/or other Account Executives.

Ø Serve as the primary point of contact for new member-investors.

Ø Establish positive relations with the principals of businesses throughout the Chamber’s service area.

Ø Work with principals to establish specific needs of their organization and report findings to appropriate Chamber departments.

Ø Make personal visits to new member-investors.

Ø Work with Chamber Area Councils to engage existing member-investors in council programs and initiatives in order to positively influence member-investor retention.

Ø Maintain adequate prospect list in Chamber member database.

Ø Develop quality prospects.

Ø Aptitude to work under constant pressure and time deadlines.

Ø The Account Executive may be called upon, and would definitely find it advantageous, to attend Chamber functions such as Council meetings, ribbon cuttings, AM Networkings, Business After Hours and other such events for recruitment purposes.

Ø Attend internal Chamber meetings.

Non-Essential/Peripheral Functions:

Ø Provide assistance with company programs as needed, i.e. Reality Check, Chamber events, etc.

Ø Involvement in civic or philanthropic organizations.

Ø Involvement in professional organizations.

Ø Research for future Chamber programming.

Minimum qualifications:

Marketing, communications or business degree from four-year college or university and two years of outside sales experience; or minimum of six years outside sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
