CHARTER LEAGUE ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION INFORMATION
Students and Parents need to complete an Athletic Participation Consent form and a Code of Ethics form.
The SAMS Academy recommends that students have an annual athletic physical. It is not however a requirement for participation.
Accident/Health Insurance is the responsibility of the student’s parents/guardians.
Students who are members of an interscholastic team at their home district high school are discouraged from participating in the same sport at Southwest Secondary Learning Center. Participation in charter league games will count toward interscholastic game limitations and could jeopardize the home district team’s eligibility.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY
1] Students shall be in good standing academically and behaviorally in all their classes
2] Students shall have a 2.0 grade point average with no more than one (1) F.
Edgenuity course grades will be determined by the Actual Grade.
Regular classes, Dual enrollment courses, Smart Lab and Physical Education classes will be determined by traditional standards.
5] Guidelines for the SSLC No Child Stays Behind program will also determine
eligibility.
Students who are an average of 2 weeks behind [12% or more] in all their Edgenuity courses are ineligible.
Eligibility will be checked at regular intervals throughout the sports season.
