Training and experience
·  Previous laboratory work experience as a GT in a molecular genetics service
·  Experience of a range of molecular biology assays used on various platforms
·  Experience or knowledge of molecular techniques used in cancer genetics
·  Evidence of professional development such as work experience in a number of molecular biology areas applied to research
·  Evidence of a complete training record obtained in a diagnostic service / Yes

Knowledge
·  Good theoretical knowledge of genetics including the role of DNA, RNA, Chromosomes and their functions in the cell
·  Knowledge of relevant molecular genetics techniques including PCR and sequencing of DNA
·  Good laboratory skills for micro-manipulation of clinical samples and their requirements
·  Good understanding of teamwork and integrating within and supporting the team
