CCFF SCHOLARSHIPS- GENERAL INFORMATION

Each school may present ONE CANDIDATE PER SCHOLARSHIP. STUDENTS CAN ONLY APPLY FOR

ONE SCHOLARSHIP. We hope that sponsors will encourage their students to apply.

Each applicant must send two copies of the appropriate forms:

1. The completed application

2. The Teacher Evaluation Form completed by the French Teacher

3. One letter of recommendation (copied to make two copies)

AND

4. ONE copy of the school transcript

In addition:

Applicants for the AATF (Carroll Naves and Grand Concours), Suzanne Carrell Scholarships MUST SIGN A STATEMENT OF HONORABLE INTENT (you will find it on pages 8 and 10)

FRENCH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT A LATER DATE IN FEBRUARY 2017. PLEASE CHECK OUR WEBSITE FOR MORE DETAILS.

SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTIONS

*Florida Chapter of AATF to Offer TWO Scholarships at Congrès 2017

This year, the Florida Chapter of AATF is offering TWO scholarships of $500 each for students who are participating in Le Congrès de la culture française en Floride: the Carroll Naves Award, and two Grand Concours Award. The candidates must be outstanding third, fourth or fifth year seniors who are competing at Congrès, and whose sponsors are a members of AATF-FL and FFLA. In addition, for the Grand Concours Award, the candidates must be registered to take the National French Exam in 2017. NOTE: Each student can apply for only ONE scholarship.

The candidates' fluency in French will not necessarily be the primary criterion in determining the winners of these scholarships. The successful candidates must demonstrate their commitment to continuing the study of the language and culture of francophone countries at the post-secondary level by. NOTE: Recipients of the awards will be reimbursed only after they provide proof of having completed at least one French language course during their freshman year in college at a level higher than their current level.

*SUZANNE CARRELL SCHOLARSHIP

Due date-February 27th, 2016 to Patrycja Prokopowicz

This year the Congrès is also offering one scholarship: $500 for a Senior. The recipient must be an outstanding second year or higher French student who is competing at Congrès. This scholarship was instituted in honor of Madame Suzanne Carrell, one of its founders. It can be used in a variety of ways as long as it furthers the student’s French education.

*PIERRE KAUFKE AWARD
Due date-February 27th, 2016 to Patrycja Prokopowicz

The Pierre Kaufke High School Student Award in French will be awarded to a deserving high school Junior at the 2016 Congrès de la Culture Française en Floride, by Dr. Pierre Kaufke, beloved professor and long-time judge of Le Congrès. The award is for $500.

*TERESITA BERTOT SCHOLARSHIP

Due date-February 27th, 2016 to Patrycja Prokopowicz

This year the Congrès is also offering one scholarship: $500 for a Senior. The recipient must be an outstanding second year or higher French student who is competing at Congrès. This scholarship was instituted in honor of Madame Teresita Bertot, one of its founders.
