POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Technology Consultant
Program: PD/Tabs
General Purpose:
Under the direction of the Director of PD/TABS to facilitate and expedite the development of computer and other information technology integration throughout a specific or assigned school district.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Trains and assists teachers with information technology systems and curriculum integration.
2. Develops and implements strategies for district wide infrastructure development for information technology solutions. Develops procedures and standards relating to information technology.
3. Develops and implements professional development opportunities in information technology for staff.
4. Develops and updates district technology strategic plan.
5. Researches and tracks developments in technology and education in order to provide up-to-date information in all areas of interface.
6. Oversees and directs website development for district.
7. Approves procurements of information technology equipment.
8. Recommends and procures information technology systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
BS/BA in communications or computer science plus 5 years experience in system development/integration including 3 years experience in education including curriculum development and teacher training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires knowledge of networked information systems, internet technologies, PC and MacIntosh operating systems, software and hardware. Requires good presentation and public relations skills.
