Principal Scientist – Oncology Translational Research

Position Description:

As a translational scientist at ICC, you will initiate and execute translational science research and provide scientific strategies in support of the global drug discovery and development programs. The successful candidate will lead a group of cross-function scientists in cell biology, in vivo pharmacology, genetics and immunohistochemistry, and deliver translational data packages to guide and support clinical development of our candidate drugs. In addition, you will initiate and manage external scientific interaction and collaborations with the key opinion leaders in the related fields.

Requirements:

· MD or PhD in Biological or Medical Sciences with significant research experience in one of the following biological effect areas: growth factor/survival and angiogenesis.

· 5+ years research experience in at least one of the three biological effect areas

· Experience in biomarker identification, shRNA or RNAi target validation & potential therapeutic application, and/or in vitro and/or in vivo models for solid tumors and applying these models for small molecules and biologicals studies essential

· Pharmaceutical (discovery) experience in small molecule or/and biologics drug discovery desired. Good understanding on key issues of translational science and how to apply translational science for drug discovery and development

· Demonstrated independent and collaborative and team-leading capabilities

· Strong commitment to team work as well as high levels of integrity, professionalism and personal ethics

· Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written presentation skills, and fluent in English and Chinese desired

Statistical Scientist

Position Description:

This position will provide statistical data analysis support for project teams. You will work with the project teams to understand the project needs, advice on experimental design and data analysis, implement QA/QC procedures, and carry out statistical data analysis for the project teams

Requirement:

· PhD in statistics, physics, or computer science.

· Working experience in analysing biological data

· Strong communication skills and able to explain data analysis concepts and principles to non-specialists

· Demonstrated problem solving skills

· Strong computer programming skills

· Able to communicate in both English and Mandarin

Capability Leader: Informatics Leader

Position Description:

To establish and lead the informatics group. The key accountabilities/responsibilities include:

· Recruit to establish the team

· Lead the team to effectively manage, analyze, and utilize biological information to support the ICC project teams

· Utilize both external and internal information to generate testable hypothesis for target selection and biomarker identification and validation

· Provide strategic and scientific leadership for ICC

Requirements

· PhD in bioscience, physics, or computer science with at least 5 years of experience in informatics discipline

· Strong knowledge in major areas of informatics: biological databases, literature database, sequence search and analysis, gene expression microarray, aCGH

· Excellent analytical background and good understanding of statistical data analysis principles

· Computer programming skills

Principal Scientist I / Team Leader, In vitro Pharmacology

As a Principal Scientist I/Team Leader in ICC, you will manage and execute discovery and pre-clinical research projects and provide scientific strategies in support of the global drug discovery and development programs. The successful candidate will lead a group of in vitro pharmacology scientists with expertise in the biological effect areas including cell growth/survival signaling, angiogenesis, invasion and DNA repair/cell cycle. Also, this position will coordinate with the translational scientists to deliver translational data packages to guide and support clinical development of our candidate drugs.

You hold a MD or PhD in Biological or Medical Sciences and have 5+ years research experience in cancer cell biology and signaling. Experience in mechanism-based, target-driven in vitro culture and assay systems of cancer cells and applying these systems for small molecules and biologics evaluation is essential. Pharmaceutical (discovery) experience is also preferred. Demonstrated independent, collaborative and team-leading capability is another prerequisite to meet this challenge.
