CYPRUS TOURISM ORGANISATION SPONSORS 2010 FxPro CYPRUS RALLY AND FIRST EVER LOVE CYPRUS GOLDEN STAGE RALLY OFFERING THRILLING MOTOR RACING SPORTING SPECTACLE

The Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) will be one of the main sponsors of the 2010 FXPro Cyprus Rally taking place from 4 to 6 November. An essential date on the international motorsport calendar with an enviable track record, the FxPro Cyprus Rally will see competitors tackling the island’s challenging special stages. One of the rounds of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship, the event will also, for the first time, bring the 12-round 2010 Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) calendar to a close.

The event, which will host leading names from the international rallying community, is a favourite amongst motorsport fans. On the same weekend, Cyprus will also host the inaugural Love Cyprus Golden Stage Rally on 7 November, an innovative new one-day rallying format to showcase the sport with teams going head to head on a unique special stage for a minimum prize fund of €150,000.00.

Attracted to the stunning Cyprus countryside, the major sports station Eurosport have chosen the 2010 FxPro Cyprus Rally for live special stage broadcasts, with four stages – and the Love Cyprus Golden Stage Rally - set to be transmitted live to rally fans. Cyprus is, of course, a leading holiday destination and many sports fans will use the rally as an opportunity to combine spectating at a world-calibre sporting event with an unforgettable holiday in the sun. With the event based around the popular coastal resort of Limassol, which boasts a wealth of cafes, restaurants, beaches and more, there’s plenty for tourists to see and do.
