2011 Scholarship Application

In Memory of Kayla Marie Cyr

By Reed Seed Sales, Daymian & Nikki Reed and Family

The mission of Rachel’s Challenge is “We exist to inspire, equip and empower every person to create a permanent positive culture change in their school, business and community by starting a chain reaction of kindness and compassion.” Rachel’s Challenge exists to stand alongside education professionals at every level to inspire, equip and empower students from K-12 to make a positive difference in their world. It is a powerful partnership that can replace bullying and violent behavior on school campuses with kindness and compassion so students can learn more in a safer, more respectful environment. Also attached is “My Ethics, My Codes of Life” as written by Rachel Joy Scott.

Kayla was President of the Clifton-Clyde High School Friends of Rachel her senior year. The Rachel’s Challenge presentation left an impression on Kayla as well as other students that attended the assembly in Concordia and listened to the tragedy that happened in Columbine High School on April 20, 1999. It is with this in mind that we offer this one-time $250.00 scholarship to one graduating senior boy and a one-time $250.00 scholarship to one graduating senior girl of the Clifton-Clyde High School Class of 2011 that meets the mission as stated above.
