Participation in the Business Education Partnership Leadership program should be taken seriously. All events are mandatory. An introductory meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 30 , 2014 at 3:30 pm at Shepherd University/Martinsburg . Each month you will be expected to attend a meeting with your mentor or participate in a group activity. Please be sure you are willing to make this commitment. You will be rewarded in April 2015 for your efforts.

T he Leadership Program

of the

Berkeley County Business Education Partnership

Mission: To equip students for the future, to recognize the impact of teachers on the lives of their students and to utilize the talents and experience of our partners .

Program Requirements:

· Attend Leadership Orientation to be held at the Shepherd University, Martinsburg campus off

Edwin Miller Blvd. at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2014.

· Attend monthly meetings with your mentor and/or Leadership Classmates,

1. October – Meet with Mentor

2. November 13 – Group Meeting, Location TBD

3. December 8-13 – Group Meeting, Project Locations TBD

4. January – Meet with Mentor

5. February 12 – Group Meeting, Location TBD

6. March – Meet with Mentor

7. April 22 – Leadership Dinner, Holiday Inn, Martinsburg, WV

· Read the “Habitude” book on developing leadership skills provided by the Business Partnership and complete the workbook with your mentor.

· “Tell Your Story” - Prepare to introduce and recognize a teacher in your educational career that has had the most impact on you.

· Attend the mid-year social (students only) in January. Date, time and location to be determined.

· Attend the end of the year celebration April 22, 2015 at the Holiday Inn at 6 pm.

How will you benefit?

· Opportunity to grow and develop personally by using the leadership book and workbook provided by the Business Partnership. This book should help you have a better understanding of yourself and develop leadership skills within you.

· Gain knowledge from your mentor with real life applications through monthly interactions
