The Regence Group, Seattle WA

Architect / Tech Lead, Sept. 08 – Jan. 10

Using all the latest technologies from Microsoft, we are building an application that manages and facilitates quoting new and renewing clients for health and dental insurance. I am the Technology Lead for this team of 10 software developers and the architect of the current solution. This application had requirements to make many of its facets configurable. To accommodate this, a customizable rule engine built on top of the Workflow Foundation was created. UI configurability was implemented using Asp.Net MVC Framework and SQL Server and all services were written in a way that they could be interchanged using a Provider Pattern. A very robust and useful unit test framework was developed to assist developers in debugging this very complex application. Technologies for this project include:

· Workflow Foundation (WF)

· Asp.Net MVC Framework (beta, RC’s and 1.0/2.0)

· jQuery (1.3.6), AJAX

· Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)

· Custom Windows Forms application to edit business rules dynamically (.Net 3.5 Winforms)

· SQL 2005

· Xslt

As part of my professional development and for the benefit of Regence, I also conducted .Net training classes for beginning developers and assisted with the Agile Working Group (AWG). Training classes at times had more than 70 employees in attendance. The AWG helped educate the different facets of business within Regence about agile principles & methodologies.
