Announces 2016 Board of Directors Leadership

BOISE – The Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) recently announced new members and leadership positions for the 2016 board of directors.

The Boise CVB’s Board of Directors acts in an advisory role for the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, focused on promoting tourism and enhancing Boise’s economy by marketing the region. Board members, who are experienced with the community and tourism industry, serve a three-year term with opportunity to renew for one additional year.

“We are looking forward to continuing the momentum established during Moya Shatz Dolsby’s time as chairwoman in 2015,” said Carrie Westergard, Executive Director of the Boise CVB. “We will continue to promote Boise as a top destination choice for meetings, conventions and visitors under Mike McKnight and Rebecca Hupp’s leadership.”

New Board of Directors Leadership:

Mike McKnight leads the Boise CVB as chairman of the board and serves on the executive committee. McKnight is Vice President of Operations and Asset Manager for Rocky Mountain Management and Development, LLC in Boise. There, McKnight is responsible for the daily functions of the hospitality division and manages numerous commercial properties. He is active in the tourism industry through service to Best Western International, Treasure Valley Lodging Association and Idaho Hospitality Education Foundation.

Rebecca Hupp is board chairwoman-elect and serves on the executive committee. She will assume the role as board chair in 2017. Hupp is the Airport Director at the Boise Airport. She brings more than a decade of experience in the airline industry from her past positions with Bangor International Airport, Aberdeen Regional Airport and the Kansas City Aviation Department.

Moya Shatz Dolsby is the board past chairwoman and will remain on the executive committee this year. Dolsby is the Executive Director of the Idaho Wine Commission. The successful merger between the Boise CVB and Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce is due in part to her leadership as board chair in 2015.

New Board Members:

John Cunningham brings a strong background of hotel management, the sporting industry and the local community to his board service. Cunningham is the CEO of Block 22, LLC and oversees The Grove Hotel, CenturyLink Arena and the Idaho Steelheads.

Dave Terrell joins the board in March. Terrell brings with him more than 30 years in the banking industry, including his current role as regional president at Washington Trust Bank.
