Non-Profit Application

The Bayou Teche Bear Festival is currently looking for Non-Profit Food Vendors for the third annual festival in Franklin, Louisiana.

The Bayou Teche Bear Festival will be held April 21-22, 2006 throughout the downtown area. Music, Children’s Activities, seminars, field trips, food booths, arts & crafts and more will highlight this two-day event.

The hours of operation are as follows: Friday, April 21, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 22, 2006 – 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Booth Space is 15’ X 20.’ The fee is $100.00. Double is $200.00. First time attendees is $75.00.

Electrical fee is $15.00. Please let us know your electrical needs. The Bayou Teche Bear Festival, Black Bear Conservation Committee and the City of Franklin will not be responsible for electrical overload. Vendors are responsible for his/her own heavy-duty outdoor cords.

Food booths will be selected on variety of food, number of applications received and date the application is received. Please follow the Health Department’s rules & regulations.

No booth can be transferred without written permission from festival official. It is agreed & understood that only items on this contract will be sold in the booth. Failure to abide will result in possible closure of booth and forfeit of fees.

Vendors may begin setting up on Friday, April 21, 2006 and Saturday, April 22, 2006 before 8 a.m. Security will be provided Friday & Saturday night. Cars & trucks must be cleared from the area by 8 a.m. on Saturday. No trucks or cars may be left overnight Friday & Saturday. Parking permits for designated parking will be provided.

Vendors are responsible for his/her own tables, chairs, cooking supplies, etc. Vendors should be prepared for any weather condition.

Vendors must assume full responsibility for sales and care of his/her booth area.

Exhibitors are responsible for collecting sales taxes required by the State of Louisiana, Parish of St. Mary and City of Franklin. The St. Mary Parish Sales Tax office will contact you.

No items sold shall bear the registered name or logo of the Festival unless prior written consent given by the Festival.

No dumping of waste such as water, cooking oil, etc. is allowed on festival grounds. Waste barrels will be set up on the grounds. Violation could result in closure of booth and forfeiture of fees paid.

No alcoholic beverages, commercially prepared soft drinks, water or lemonade will be sold at any booth other than those authorized by the Festival.

All exhibitors are required to stay until the event closes. No vehicle will be allowed in the food area during normal festival operating hours.


Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning trash from his/her booth area daily.

Vendors are responsible for a 10# fire extinguisher per booth. Equipment shall be isolated from public by four feet and/or barrier between cooking devices and the public. Pots and deep fat fryer type cooking equipment shall have lids and should be separated from each other by at least a two-foot horizontal distance.

You agree to provide a Certificate of Insurance, with a minimum of $300,000.00 product & general liability coverage, naming the Bayou Teche Bear Festival, Black Bear Conservation Committee and City of Franklin as additional insured.

It is agreed and understood that booth space in not guaranteed until executed contract, properly completed insurance certificate and valid check or money order in the full amount of booth rental is received by the Festival.

There will be additional parking available in some locations at an additional fee of ½ the booth rental for vendors wishing to park their vehicle along the side of their booth. The space will be 8’ wide and the depth will be determined by the location of the booth.

You must apply in advance to secure your parking space. ONLY vehicles with permits issued by the festival are allowed to park in these spaces. Please contact Laura Goulas for additional information.

I accept the rules as stated and understand an accepted application is a commitment. Refunds will not be made for cancellations or inclement weather.

Furthermore, I hereby indemnify and hold the Bayou Teche Bear Festival, Black Bear Conservation Committee and City of Franklin, as well as their respective agents, representatives, insurers, principals, employees, officers and directors, harmless from and against any loss, damage or expense, including reasonable attorney’s fees, incurred or suffered by or threatened against the Bayou Teche Bear Festival, Black Bear Conservation Committee and the City of Franklin, or any of the foregoing, in connection with or as a result of any claim for personal injury or property damage or loss, or otherwise brought by or on behalf of any third party, firm or corporation as a result of or in connection with Booth Operator’s participation or any products sold by Booth Operator in the aforementioned festival activities.
