Dear Mr. Peanort,

I am writing to express my unconditional support for the Boaz & Ruth’s application for the Community Development Block Grant, which will provide housing for low-income individuals in the Highland Park community of Richmond, Virginia. It is my sincere hope that after your review, due diligence, and deliberation, you will approve Boaz & Ruth, a very capable and worthy grant recipient.

As a Board Member for Boaz & Ruth, I understand and well appreciate the outstanding work of Boaz & Ruth. True to their mission, they have and continue to “empower, rebuild, and connect”.

By renovating storefronts and homes in the underserved neighborhood of Highland Park, Boaz & Ruth is revitalizing the economy and the spirit of an entire community. Since 2002, Boaz & Ruth has renovated a dozen buildings, started six businesses and created hundreds of jobs. Crime in Highland Park has been reduced by more than 60 percent and beauty is being restored. Boaz & Ruth has developed strong community partnerships and works closely with stakeholders like Saving Our Youth VA to achieve common goals.

Boaz & Ruth has been working towards a safe, healthy community and continues to be a strong dependable resource and partner. For these reasons, I highly recommend approval of Boaz & Ruth’s grant application for the Community Development Block Grant.

Sincerely,

Jo White
