OVERVIEW

MNACVPR is pleased to present its 21st Annual State Conference, held this year at the Ramada Mall of America-Airport in Bloomington, MN. Discussions will encompass programmatics beyond the standard cardiac rehabilitation program including health, nutrition, AACVPR updates and Outcome measures. MNACVPR is fortunate to welcome renowned presenters who will provide valuable information, that will motivate and energize the body and spirit.

OBJECTIVES

At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:

·  Identify the major barriers to a healthy lifestyle

·  Understand the link between chronic stress and cardiovascular health

·  Modify yoga postures for cardiopulmonary patients

·  Describe the benefits of yoga in the rehabilitation setting

·  Describe a carbohydrate counting meal plan and its relationship to glucose control in diabetes

·  Increase confidence level in taking care of patients with diabetes

·  Understand the benefits of “Advanced Care Planning” for patients with chronic illness.

·  Understand what Palliative care is for patients dealing with a chronic illness.

·  Help attendees understand the current high priority activities of AACVPR.

·  Learn one or two ways to use research to implement “best practice” into your program.
