Objectives

Labs (In Class)

·  Install Windows 7 OS on lab computer’s 1st partition (C:\).
o  During the setup process you will have the opportunity to either (1) Upgrade your existing OS; or (2) process a Custom Install. It is very important that you choose option (2) and Custom Install which will allow you to choose where the OS is installed on your computer. Be sure to specify your first partition C:\
o  During the install you will have the opportunity to allocate the size of your partition(s); be sure to use the following guidelines when creating your partitions.
Create the following partitions:
i.  1st Partition – C:\ -- Size: 30GB (Win 7)
ii.  2nd Partition – E:\ -- Size: 40GB
iii.  3rd Partition – F:\ -- Size: Rest of HDD / Get instructors initial after setting up partitions….prior to installing Win 7.

·  Obtain all Windows Updates, Drivers and Patches.

You may need to perform the below to get updates to work.
1.  Download KB310810-x86.msu
2.  Turn off Windows update Service
3.  Delete folder: C:\Windows/Software Distribution
4.  Reboot Machine / Int___
