ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

CHILI COOKOFF: The third annual All-Dorchester Chili Cook-Off on April 26 at the IBEW Hall on Freeport Street was a great success. More entrants than ever helped us raise money for the Dorchester Day Parade. This year’s parade is Sunday June 7. Don’t miss this wonderful community event. The parade kicks off in Lower Mills at 1 p.m. and proceeds along Dorchester Avenue winding down at Columbia Road.

WINE TASTING: Another successful social night and fund-raising effort thanks to a great turnout, our generous hosts at 307 Ashmont Street, terrific gourmet food, and, of course, the wine from Albert Winestein in Hyde Park.

BOSTON SHINES: Thanks to all the volunteers who turned out on April 26 to spiff up our streets and tidy up Peabody Square – not an easy task given all the construction still happening at the T station. After all the work, some play with hot dogs on the Square.
