Chairman Johnson called the Armed Services, Veterans Affairs, and Public Safety Committee to order at 3:30 PM. After calling the committee to order Chairman Johnson welcomed members and led the committee in a prayer and Pledge.

Following the Pledge the Clerk called the roll. A quorum was present. The Chair then asked members to approve minutes from the previous meeting. With no objection the minutes were approved.

The Chair asked Representatives Anielski and Terhar to come forward to provide sponsor testimony on House Bill 173. Members asked questions and sponsors answered.

Vice Chair Perales made a motion to favorably pass House Bill 18 out of committee. Representative Retherford seconded the motion. The bill passed without objection.

The Chair then brought Senate Bill 10 forward for its second hearing. Angi Lee from the Easter Seals provided proponent testimony on SB 10.

Chairman Johnson brought forward House Bill 104 for a second hearing. Garry Beltz provided proponent testimony on HB 104. John Gilchrist (Chiefs of Police), Sheriff Matt Lutz, Ed Mejia (State Highway Patrol), and Steven Robinette provided opponent testimony on House Bill 104.

With no further business, the committee adjourned at 5:15 PM.
