BAKED APPLES

Ingredients

2 apples 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons butter 2 tablespoons raisins

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

DIRECTIONS

1. Wash your hands with soap and water before you begin this food preparation activity.

2. Wash and chop apples with the apple chopper, place in large casserole dish and set it on the counter.

3. Place butter in glass measuring cup and cover with a paper towel. Microwave the butter in the cup for 20 seconds.

4. Wearing your oven mitts, remove the glass-measuring cup from the microwave and place on the counter.

5. Add the cinnamon, brown sugar, and raisins to the melted butter in the glass measuring cup and mix with a spoon.

6. Pour the mixture from the glass- measuring cup onto the chopped apples. Mix the ingredients with a spoon.

7. Cover tightly with plastic wrap. Place the custard dishes on the microwave-safe bacon tray.

8. Microwave for 4 minutes.

9. Wearing your oven mitts, remove the tray and let the apples stand for 5 minutes.

10. Using caution as you remove the plastic wrap, allow the steam to escape away from you.

11. Clean and store all of the equipment used in this activity.
