Australia Awards in the Marshall Islands

Australia’s international development assistance in the Marshall Islands aims to contribute to the long term development needs of the country particularly in the areas of tax reform, overseas development assistance, and environment.

Australia Awards are aligned with Australia’s development assistance in the Marshall Islands, targeting human resource gaps in identified priority sectors. They aim to provide awardees with the skills and knowledge to drive change and influence economic and social development.

The Australian Government will assess applicants for their professional and personal qualities, academic competence and, most importantly, their potential to impact on development challenges in the Marshall Islands.

The Australian Government offers awards on the basis of merit, transparency and equal access. We strongly encourage applications from women, people with disability and other marginalised groups.

Priority sectors

The priority areas of study for Australia Awards in the Marshall Islands are: disability, economic growth, education, environment, food security, gender, governance, health, human rights, infrastructure, regional stability, rural development and water and sanitation.
