Narrative Comments (Qual) for TCE 577 Applied Psychopathology & Psychodiagnostics (DSM-5), Sp15 (all narrative comments included verbatim, student names deleted)

·  “I really appreciated how Dr. Ford was able to take what could be a very dry subject and make it relevant and so interesting. I especially liked the video examples that she used to illustrate examples of various diagnoses as well as the movie homework assignments. I cannot believe how efficiently we were able to get through so much information in only 10 weeks.”

·  “I can’t think of ways for Amy to improve. She is so good at getting us into the material and really working with it. The movie cases and real-life case examples really help me learn the best.”

·  I feel that Dr. Ford explains complicated content well. I feel she approaches class with ‘common sense.’ She teaches in a way, and assigns homework, that is totally relevant. By the way she presents this information, I don’t feel that I am ‘jumping through hoops’ to complete the program. Plus, super fun diagnosing movie clips and making Craig List ads.”

·  “Really useful and engaging course. This was my favorite class of the term. I really appreciate your organization and clarity in your teaching, your ability to moderate class discussions, and your presentation of information. Thanks!”

·  “Amy Ford rocks.”

·  “I learned so much! I but I would have liked to do more case studies with the class as a whole instead of small groups just to hear everyone’s thoughts. And maybe be provided with the instructor’s diagnosis at the end or online for studying purposes.”
