American History – New Deal Programs

Your group should research your topic comprehensively, using your American History book as well as other sources. You will be teaching this topic: you need to present all the facts in a clear, understandable fashion. Tell us the who, what, where, when, why AND how --- don’t just take facts out of the book and elsewhere and read them. I want facts leading up to conclusions, not just a series of words read back to us.

The presentations should be five to ten minutes in length with equal participation from group members. PowerPoint presentations or the chalkboard may be used as visual aids, as well as posters or any other relevant materials you produce. Such visuals will, of course, help your grade considerably. They are not mandatory, but if you don’t have any I would suggest you produce a wonderful presentation.

You will have Thursday and Friday in class, in the library, to prepare the presentation. You need to be working on the presentation, not simply talking or doing other work --- if your presentation ends up light on material, and you did not use all the time available to you, there will be no excuses.

Every member of each group needs to keep a log of the work completed by each of the group members that will be turned in on Monday to help determine the individual grades. If you are not participating in your group, you will not receive the same grade as those who are.

On Monday we will do the presentations in class.

The project is worth 100 points, or the equivalence of a test grade.
