ALLEGHENY SYNOD YOUTH COVENANT

As a representative of my church, I commit myself to the purpose of this event in the following ways:

1. Taking responsibility for my attendance:

· attending the entire scheduled event in body, mind, and spirit;

· being punctual.

2. Taking responsibility for my conduct:

· do not use obscene/offensive language;

· obey the rules of the facility;

· use common sense concerning property other than your own;

· agreeing that:

the use of alcoholic beverages and/or drugs is prohibited; each person will be in his/her room as announced.

· Showing respect for others:

observing their right to express opinions;

listening as we would expect to be listened to;

being inclusive; socializing with everyone;

letting others know where we are going during free time;

being considerate of others staying in the same facility.

3. Taking responsibility for following through:

· relaying my experience to those in my home church.

As a sign of my commitment to my task and to one another, I agree that any breach of this covenant needs to be addressed immediately by the Synod Youth Coordinator, the Adult Supervisors responsible for the youth, the youth participant, and/or the youth participant’s parent/guardian, regardless of the agenda.
