ALAMO BOOKLET PROJECT

Directions:

You will create an Alamo Booklet that contains facts about the Battle of the Alamo.

Supplies:

· 7 sheets of paper (white, colored, pattern, etc.) ● Pencil

· Scissors ● Coloring utensils

· Alamo template

Step 1:

Trace the Alamo using the Alamo template on all 7 sheets of paper. Cut out all 7 sheets when finished tracing.

Step 2: Cover

Write The Alamo on the front cover of your booklet. Decorate or draw pictures/symbols on the cover that illustrates what the Alamo is to you.

Step 3: Page 1

Write 5 facts in complete sentences explaining what events led to the Battle of the Alamo. (Use your Unit 4.1 Guided Notes or Chapter 10 for help)

Step 4: Page 2

Write 5 facts in complete sentences explaining what happened during the Battle of the Alamo. (Use your Unit 4.1 Guided Notes or Chapter 11 for help)

Step 5: Page 3

Look on page 275 to draw the aerial view of the Alamo. You can trace from the textbook if you need help.

Label the following areas:

1. North Wall 5. West Wall 9. Cattle Pens

2. Well 6. The 18-pounder 10. Horse Corral

3. Long Barracks 7. Irrigation Ditch 11. Chapel

4. North Barracks 8. Main Gate 12. South Barracks

Step 6: Page 4

Choose one of the three following men to write one paragraph (4-6 sentences) about.

· David Crockett (pages 268, 271, 272, 280)

· William B. Travis (pages 271-279)

· James Bowie (pages 271, 268, 274, 274, 280)

Step 7: Page 5

Draw or Print 3 to 4 colorful pictures/symbols pertaining to the Battle of the Alamo. Use pictures from Ch. 11 for ideas!
