Adding a Topic to Kete
Description
Topics are a way to gather items together into subject clusters.
They are easy to add.
They tell the story.
Step by Step : Method 1
1. Login to Kete
2. Click Add item
3. Click Topic from the Add a? dropdown menu.
4. Select a Topic Type.
5. When a new window opens Fill in the Title (Concise description of the topic), Short Summary (Introduction to topic) , Description (Free Text can be as long as you like) & Tags (Subjects)
L If you decide you don’t want to add a topic after all, just click the cancel link and your typing will not be saved.
6. Click the Create button.
Topic Types

Click the Add a new Topic link,

Adding Links to other Topics/Images
Under the Related items tab there is a “Link Existing” option. A new window will open, choose what you would like to link : Topic ; Image ; Audio etc. type a keyword in the search box. Click the small box next to the
Item you want to link, then click the Add button, then click Close.
The link should then appear in the related items box.

Text Editor
Text editor allows you to change the format of the Description just as in a Word document the toolbar reflects options for
Top Line : Text Format;
Alignment ;
Indent ;
Lists – bullets and numbers ;
Text Colour ;
Background Colour ;

Undo and Redo
HTML
HTML :
This allows you to edit the HTML source – this is the programme code that formats the web pages. HTML is created automatically by Kete for each page. And using this button allows you to see that HTML.
a. This means you can copy the HTML from one page to another and in this way copy the exact format from a page you like.
b. For example if you see a table format you would like in Kete, you can click on the HTML button and copy the code to the clipboard. Then you can paste this code into another page (again via the HTML button) then edit it and put in your information.
Middle Line : Format – Paragraph – Heading Styles
Font Family – 17 styles to choose from
Font Size – 8pt to 36pt
Paste Options : Plain text or Paste from Word
