Insurance Enrollment Pledge

Upon enrolling in the Tohoku University Graduate School of Economics and Management, I agree to do the following.

1. I will enroll in Personal Accident Insurance for Students Pursuing Education and Research[i].

2. In the event that I rent private housing without a joint guarantor, I will enroll in Comprehensive Renters' Insurance for Foreign Students Studying in Japan[ii].

3. I will enroll in the insurance stipulated by the faculty and graduate school which will compensate for hospitalization and/or doctor visits due to unforeseen disaster, accident, accident, illness, injury regardless of occurring on or off the campus as well as insurance for compensation for legal damages if I unintentionally injure other people on or off the campus[iii].

This insurance provides coverage to the policy holder should s/he be accidentally injured during school, at school events, in school facilities, during extracurricular events (club activities etc.), while commuting to school, and while moving between school facilities.

[ii] Comprehensive Renters' Insurance for Foreign Students Studying in Japan

In Japan, students need a guarantor to rent a private apartment etc. By enrolling in a renter's insurance system, international students can ease the financial and psychological burden of their guarantors.
