APPLICATION FOR “NEW PLACES FOR NEW PEOPLE” AND “MULTI-CULTURAL” GRANTS
District Connectional Ministries Council

The District Connectional Ministries Council (DCMC) provides grants from district asking funds for the purpose of “making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” Currently, we offer grants in two areas:

· New Places for New People (NPNP) – NPNP ministries seek to reach more new, younger, and more diverse people to become world-changing disciples of Jesus Christ.

· Multi-Cultural Ministries (MCM) – MCM seek to build the kin-dom with sisters and brothers in Christ through creative, diverse, and Spirit-filled ways that unite our communities and churches.

Any United Methodist church, community of faith, or leaders in the district may apply. Applications will be considered throughout the year (no formal deadline). Any ministry or dollar amount will be considered.

Applicants will be notified upon the receipt of the application with timeline of when the DCMC will take action. Upon the DCMC vote, the applicant will be notified by email, mail, or written communication.

The application consists of the following form and a brief (two pages or less) ministry action plan that speaks to NPNP or MCM purposes. The ministry action plan should include:

· Specific details about the people they are trying to reach.

· Specific details about how these new people will become disciples of Jesus Christ (think SMART goals).

· Reference to any renewal or revitalization process currently or recently engaged in doing.

· Tangible buy-in from a critical mass of people from the church, community, or leadership.

· Financial sustainability after a maximum of three years without further need of district funds.
