I THINK what you are asking is how to write an equation if you are given two points. To do this (1) find the slope and (2) find the y-intercept.

To find the slope:

  1. Start with one of the points, it doesn't matter which one, and write the y-coordinate on the top and the x-coordinate on the bottom.
  2. Then subtract on both the top and bottom
  3. Finally, write the y-coordinate of the second point on the top and the x-coordinate of the second point on the bottom. It's best to put the second points in parenthesis.
  4. Simplify this and you'll have the slope.
