A Sound of Thunder Pages Assignment

Time Safari, Inc. Brochure

Directions: You will need to go to the marketing templates and choose the 3 panel brochure. The following are a list of requirements for your brochure. They are broken down into two categories: Pictures and Text

Pictures: There is space on the brochure for six (6) pictures. You are to go online and find pictures that accurately reflect the ideas and images in Bradbury’s short story. As a suggestion, you might want to Google the following terms: t-rex, time travel, a sound of thunder, primeval forest, time travel machine, butterflies, dinosaurs, etc. When you find the pictures, all you have to do is drag them on top of the existing pictures on the template. There are six panels and spaces for pictures on panels 1, 3, 4, 5, and the last panel has space for 2 pictures.

Text: The 1st panel (far left) has room for a heading and half a page of text. In this panel, you must include the title of the company and a brief summary of the time travel opportunity. You might want to include a quote from the text itself.

The 2nd panel is the address page. You need an address for the Time Safari company and an address for someone that would receive this brochure.

The 3rd panel is the cover page. You need the company title and the date of its creation. Remember, this takes place in a futuristic society.

The 4th panel should contain the rules for time travel. You can find these rules throughout the story and add your own.

The 5th panel is a chart where you should have dates and places for time travel. Example: you could have the different periods of ancient times – “Jurassic” “Triassic” “Cretaceous” and the places in the world you could travel. The last part of that section could include a few sentences about the cost and/or what you might see on your journey.

The 6th panel has space reserved for text. Here, I would like you to quote at least two lines from the story that use IMAGERY, SIMILES, METAPHORS, or PERSONIFICATION to describe the time machine, the t-rex, or the primeval forest. You will write down the quote and then identify the correct figurative language.

You will be graded on the following: creativity, your ability to correctly work with the template, and whether or not you included the information explained above.

GOOD LUCK and have fun!
