SECTION 2: 911

A. ESTABLISHMENT OF 911 SYSTEM

1. Wilkinson County, Georgia hereby implements the Wilkinson County Emergency Telephone Number “911” System within the geographical boundaries of Wilkinson County, Georgia.

B. SURCHARGE

1. There is hereby imposed by each “exchange access facility” (as defined in O.C.G.A sec. 46-5-122(4)) subscribed to by telephone subscribers within Wilkinson County, Georgia, a monthly “911” charge of $1.00 per month. Each service supplier shall, on behalf of Wilkinson County, Georgia, collect the “911” charge from those telephone subscribers to whom it provides exchange telephone service in the area served by the emergency “911” system. The billing and collection of such emergency “911” charges from such telephone subscribers shall be in accordance with the provisions of 46-5-134 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, which are in effect on the date of this Resolution, or as hereafter amended.

2. There is hereby designated the emergency telephone system fund which shall be a separate, restricted account and which shall only be used for the deposit of the monthly Emergency “911” fees remitted to the county by the service suppliers. Such funds shall be used only for those purposes as designated in Official Code Of Georgia Annotated section 46-5-134(e).
