Red Scharlach
Piet Mondrian's Composition: Hedwig
Image © 2004 Red Scharlach

This is a terrific combination of simplicity and style. It helps to know that it's an owl, but then the brilliance of the composition becomes apparent. Red has taken some liberties with Mondrian structures (the feet in particular) but it nevertheless retains the essential elements of a real Mondrian. At the top of the picture, the lines are authentic but nevertheless suggest head and ears.

Michael Patrick
when the cat "Fluffy" draws the attention of Piet Mondrian
one of several "cat classics" by Michael Patrick. Here's a link, but the site is rather impenetrable. /
Patricia Bannisterfrom eBay 12th June 2003
from the Original mixed watermedia painting by Patricia Bannister, now in a private collection.
Art the Cat admires art . Being a New Yorker himself, he seems to appreciate Broadway. I have no idea what Piet Mondrian was thinking of when he painted this, but to me, and perhaps to Art this is as cheerful a subway transit map as any I have ever seen.
Piet would have celebrated his 132nd birthday on March 7 if he was still with us, but wherever he is, I hope he enjoys this whimsical salute.
Broadway is an open edition print, is 4 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches in size, nicely mounted in a 10 x 8 black textured mat and ready to frame in a style suitable to your dיcor. It is printed on genuine Frederix canvas, and I have applied four layers of UV protectant. It is titled and signed in pencil on the reverse. A certificate authenticating it as a reproduction of my own original artwork as well as care instructions is also included. /

The cat above is my favourite, but these are the reason for starting this page, found on the site of Billy Blue Design and Writing. The designer is Ross Renwick and you can contact him here.
Here are Mondrian Dog and the brilliant Mondrian Snake /

The two cats at the top are my favourites, but this has to be the cleverest. /

Viviana
KIDS BUG MONDRIAN ORIGINAL PAINTING BY VC
You are bidding on a original (not a print) painting by third generation artist Viviana and kids art teacher. You are buying this artwork straight from the artist. This is from the Famous Artists & Bugs Art Series and it is a fun way of teaching kids about art and bugs. My son has a large one in his room and he loves it. Kids love bugs! I'm always thinking of ways to teach kids that art can be fun. This painting is titled "Mondrian Bugs Me". This a Mondrian like painting with a (plastic) cockroach on it.
It is 8 x10 acrylic, plastic hand painted museum quality roach on canvas panel. The painting is signed on the front and titled and dated on the back. It is framed in a black frame, that can be placed on a table or hung. La cucaracha wants to come home with you.
It would make a great gift for a child, from the age of 1 to 92 and has double educational value. I ship FedEx ground as soon as payment is received in US, International buyers email me for shipping costs. Multiple purchases will be combined to save on shipping. View my other weird & wacky works and artwork by children. /

eBay
“Post Mondrian” 19”x17” Acrylic on Canvas © 2002 By Tom Nuzum Part of a series of works called “In the Key of Canis Minor”. The title of the series refers to the influence of a small American Toy Terrier and his successor (Gorky and Corky) have had upon Nuzum. These animals appear as both actors and witnesses in the theater of existence. The Terrier functions simultaneously as a primal food consuming organism and a screen upon which elements of human culture and historical consciousness are projected. Please feel free to contact the Ezair Gallery if we can provide you with any additional information about the artist or this painting.

“Broadway Boogie Doggie” 19”x17” Acrylic on Canvas © 2002 By Tom Nuzum Part of a series of works called “In the Key of Canis Minor”. In this painting Gorky has lain down to sleep after getting tangled up in some colored tape. The work pays homage to Mondrian’s famous work, ‘Broadway Boogie Woogie. Please feel free to contact the Ezair Gallery if we can provide you with any additional information about the artist or this painting.
I asked permission to show these two works from Tom Nuzum but did not receive a reply. I will remove them if requested. /

My apologies to the artist. I did not make a note of the name.
Hi there! Let me tell you a little bit about my background. I've been painting since I was old enough to lift a crayon. I was involved in art throughout high school, painting various mustangs (our mascot) on just about everything I could get my hands on! I went on to college and graduated in 1996 with a BA in Graphic Design and a concentration in color theory, but my main interest has been web design.
In July of 2000, I decided I wanted to get my hands dirty and I started painting again. I love surreal and fun paintings, the more color the better. I also have a love for pez, so you may see a few pez show up in my paintings. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed painting them! :) /

Alexander Calder
After years of ignoring Calder, I have added three of his pictures this month, this one only because it is vaguely animalian.
Alexander Calder (after): Beastie, 1974/75
The lithograph in color from a set of 6 lithographs called "Flying Colors" were created for the Braniff company in 1973 with designs by the American artist Alexander Calder. This print is called "Beastie." It was printed on Arches Paper. Alexander Calder's designs were used for a mural painted on a DC 8-62 jet, commissioned by Braniff and completed in October 1973. Each print is embossed with the stamp of the “Flying Colors Collection.” /

A. Delgado
You're bidding on a charming 14" x 18" acrylic on canvas titled "Dog House Running" by Los Angeles artist A. Delgado. He's a dog! He's a house! He's both! Whimsical and soothing, with beautifully chosen colors and a subtle nod to Mondrian. Great addition to - or beginning of - your art collection! /

This isn't quite a Mondrian - I'm not sure what it is - is this Eames?
Anyway, here's the story, This beautiful poster was issued at Downtown Disney to mark the 25th Festival of Masters Art weekend November 10,11, and 12, 2000. It shows images of Mickey in six different classic art styles: Dali, Calder, Mondrian, Picasso, and…. who’s the artist who does the spatters?

Mondrian Cow
found in the Google image collection
Cows on Parade
Mondrian AKA The Partridge Family Bus- link
I might have to make one of these /
(22nd Apr 2002)
I have recently discovered what this Cow Parade thing is all about. There's a link here. There are good and bad cows with marvellous and terrible names. There also seem to be two makers of these things, and those which are readily available do not include Moondrian and Broadway Boogie Woogie. This is a shame, as I would really like to get hold of these. The third is Mooma, which is available. I have just (Aug 02) bought a "plush" Mooma as these are cheaper to buy and ship to England (and lack the rather unMondrianesque wheel).

Artistic Decorator CM Saddlebred SM MONDRIAN!
This auction is for a Breyer SM American Saddlebred that I have Customized into, Mondrian! (pronounced: Moan-dree-on)
This guy is one of those interesting, and one-of-a-kind pieces that you don't want to miss! He'd be great as a conversation piece on your shelf... and I'm SURE he'd stand out in the show ring! He's quite an eye-catcher! Originally sculpted by Kathleen Moody, Mondrian is inspired by and named after the abstract artist, Piet Mondrian. An artist active in the 1930s, Piet Mondrian was Dutch and cofounded the group of artists who named themselves "De-Stijl" painters. They promoted utopian ideals and believed in the birth of a new age in the wake of WWI.[snip]
It seemed fitting to me for Mondrian's ideals of balance and perfection to be expressed on one of nature's most beautiful forms; that of the horse! Of course, Mondrian's seems have been sanded, logo removed and ears, and nostrils carved out. He is painted in acrylic paints, and sealed in Krylon matte finish. His eyes are also tri-colored brown.
Having never competed in a Live Show, it's hard for me to judge what is Live Show Quality (LSQ) versus Photo Show Quality (PSQ). However, I do believe he could hold his own in the Live Show ring. It's getting more and more difficult for me to decide to sell my horses. But, I need the money to support my model horse habit (and upcoming school expenses... so look for more customs soon!). /
