Course Description: A one-half credit course in health education is required for high school graduation. The required high school health education course emphasizes decision-making skills as related to the following essential health content areas: physical wellness, nutrition, safety and first aid, exercise, fitness, and human growth and development. Other essential components of the course include stress management, conflict resolution, substance abuse and goal setting. Not to be excluded are mental and emotional illnesses, community resources and services, and health-related consumer choices.

Grading Policy: All activities will be awarded different amounts of points. For example most tests will be worth 50- 80 points. Typically homework exercises are worth between 5 and 25 points. Projects will typically be worth 30- 50 points and quizzes are usually 10 - 15 points each.
