FranklinCounty Library To Offer 750 New DownloadableAudio Books

Louisburg, NC – Beginning April 15, 2010, Franklin County Library will offer library patrons 750downloadable audio books made available through NC LIVE, North Carolina’s statewide online library, with a Library Services and Technology Act grant from the State Library of North Carolina.

The new audio books are compatible with iPods and most MP3 devices, with subjects focusing primarily on language learning, classic literature, history, and biography. The audio books are available to library patrons both within Franklin County Library, and at home via an Internet connection. All NC LIVE member libraries across the state now have access to this collection of downloadable audio books, including patrons of North Carolina public libraries, community college libraries, UNC-system libraries, and North Carolina’s independent colleges and universities.

NC LIVE, North Carolina’s statewide online library, purchased the audio books through Ingram Digital and will make them available through their MyiLibrary®Audio Books platform. MyiLibrary® is the Ingram Content Group’s industry-leading e-content aggregation platform for public, academic and professional libraries around the world.
