Q1)Which vendor was awarded the contract from the 2012 Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Janitorial Trash Can Liners?

A)The County did not award a contract for the 2012 RFQ 901013.

Q2)Will the County provide a list of the most recent awarded vendor(s) and pricing for the items listed in this bid?

A)The County awarded a contract to e*Poly Star, Inc. in 2008 for RFQ 900412.

Q3)What are the exact dimensions, thickness, case count (liners per case) and case weight (lbs. per case) for each of the liners?

A)Please see pages 5-8 of Exhibit A.

Q4)Will the County supply the current manufacturer and brand numberfor the currently purchased liners?

A)Currently the County purchases trashcan liners from various vendors. There is no specific brand name purchased. All orders are placed by liner size.

Q5)Based on past ordering history, will the County specify approximately how many cases are ordered at a time by the departments?

A)Alameda County Sheriff’s Detention Facility orders between 100 and 400 cases of 36x40, 40x48, 23x24, and 32x38 at a time.

Alameda County General Services Agency orders 125 cases of 23x24, 65 cases of 32x80, and 50 cases of 36x60 at a time.

Alameda County Probation orders 30 cases at a time.

Alameda County Public Works Agency orders 10 cases a year.

Q6)Will the County provide a sample of each of the trash can liners currently in use?

A)No, the County will not be providing samples of the currently used trash can liners.

Q7)Will the County be awarding to one (1) vendor or multiple vendors?

A)The County intends to award to one (1) vendor.

Q8)Will the County be providing adebriefingfor this RFQ? Will there be a way to request a debriefing? Will a debriefing be available before the contract is awarded or only after?

A)Per Page 11 of the RFQ, Section G (Notice of Recommendation to Award), Items 1 through 3 state:

1.At the conclusion of the RFQ response evaluation process (“Evaluation Process”), all bidders will be notified in writing by e-mail or fax, and certified mail, of the contract award recommendation, if any, by GSA – Purchasing. The document providing this notification is the Notice of Recommendation to Award.

The Notice of Recommendation to Award will provide the following information:

a.The name of the bidder being recommended for contract award; and

b.The names of all other parties that submitted proposals.

2.At the conclusion of the RFQ process, debriefings for unsuccessful bidders will be scheduled and provided upon written request and will be restricted to discussion of the unsuccessful offeror’s bid.

a.Under no circumstances will any discussion be conducted with regard to contract negotiations with the successful bidder.

b.Debriefing may include review of successful bidder’s proposal with redactions as appropriate.

3.The submitted proposals shall be made available upon request no later than five (5) business days before approval of the award and contract to GSA.
