9.13 DESOTO COUNTY 06/07/16

9.13.1 SYSTEM SUMMARY

DeSoto County has a type 4 E911 system with a single primary PSAP. The primary PSAP is located in the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Communication Center in Arcadia. The DeSoto County Sheriff's Office dispatches all law enforcement and EMS calls.

Selective Routing is used to route calls to the PSAP. The system includes Automatic Number Identification (ANI) and Automatic Location Identification (ALI). The PSAP has fixed transfer, speed calling and 7-digit manual transfer capability.

Centurylink is the local provider of the E911 network.

9.13.2 SYSTEM MANAGEMENT

The DeSoto County Board of Commissioners through the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office and the 911 Coordinator manages the DeSoto County E911 System. The PSAP is managed by the agency where it is located.

9.13.3 INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS

The DeSoto County E911 system uses selective routing thereby eliminating central office overlaps with adjoining counties. No specific agreement is required.
