Salary: £28,311 - pro-rata depending on experience plus pension

Hours: 15 hours per week

Job type: 6 month contract

EDA provides a number of services and is working towards becoming a one stop shop for disabled people living and working in Enfield. Whatever your issue or enquiry we will offer person centred support to access the services and community interests that you identify. If we cannot meet your need effectively, we will support you to identify another provider who can.

Role description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated fundraiser to support the implement of our fundraising strategy at Enfield Disability Action. This is a new position and we are looking for someone who can bring initiative, creativity and enthusiasm to engaging with donors.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter and confident communicator, with experience working in a small charity and, an understanding of and commitment to work and values of EDA.

Although the post will be supported by the CEO and Trustees, we require someone who is able to manage responsibility and who is confident working independently.

The post-holder will develop new areas of fundraising streams including trusts and foundations and major donors.

Responsibilities:

· Work with the CEO and Trustees to support the development and implement an appropriate fundraising strategy aimed at maximising funds and achieving agreed targets

· The successful candidate will work to agreed outputs, for example a minimum number of funding bids completed on a monthly basis. This will be discussed upon commencement and reviewed during regular supervision with the CEO

· Deal promptly and professionally with all enquiries relating to fundraising matters

· Undertake research to identify potential new sources of income, both individuals and grant making bodies, and make applications as appropriate

· Manage all administration associated with fundraising including keeping accurate up-to-date records, corresponding with and thanking donors, and writing reports

· Maintain excellent relationships with existing donors and volunteers ensuring a high standard of communication and supporter care

· Provide guidance, support and encouragement to community fundraisers to ensure their efforts are maximised and rewarded

· Ensure fundraising best practice is followed

· Undertake any other relevant and reasonable duties as directed by the CEO or Trustees

Person Specification

Knowledge and experience:

· Proven success of professional fundraising across a variety of streams including

Experience in 3 or more of the following:

- Individual regular giving

- Community fundraising

- Writing successful grant applications to trusts and foundations

- Corporate fundraising

· Experience working in the charity sector, particularly for small organisations

· A track record of building and maintaining effective lasting relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (including volunteers, donors, fundraisers, staff and trustees)

· High standard of written English with experience producing compelling, engaging and persuasive copy for a range of audiences

Skills:

· A proactive self-starter with initiative, drive and enthusiasm, who can work

Independently

· A confident and friendly communicator (both on the phone and in person) with excellent listening skills

· Highly efficient, self-motivated and organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise a diverse work-load

· Attention to detail, but a practical and ‘can do’ approach

· Ability to work as part of a small team

· Strong prospect research skills

· Excellent numeracy skills with experience managing budgets and interpreting financial information

· Record keeping

· Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, databases and social media

General:

· An understanding of and commitment to the work and values of EDA

· Empathetic with a high level of emotional intelligence

· Awareness of disability issues and appropriate sensitivity to the needs of

Disabled people and families. Personal experience of disability will be considered a positive qualification.

A positive approach to understanding and managing diversity and equalities issues when carrying out your duties.
