9/12/11 Meeting Minutes
All members present were asked to sign in with Secretary Molly Walker.

President Cameron Watson called the meeting to order at 7:00pm and led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Susan Webster, Cabarrus Literacy Council Coordinator spokeabout adult literacy in CabarrusCounty, noting that nearly 20,000 adults in the area are illiterate. She explained about the Pepsi Refresh grant, showed us how to text vote for them and to please collect yellow Pepsi bottle caps for voting. Text 1058735 to PEPSI (73774).
Norman Franklin, Fire & Life Safety educator, told us about his job, spoke about the Cabarrus Safe Kids Safety Day that will take place on Saturday, why they are having it and what we can do to help.
