8th Annual Student Leadership Summit

As we prepare for the 8th Annual Student Leadership Summit, we wanted to make sure you had the most up-to-date information about the day’s events. Below are some key pieces of information that will prove useful as your prepare to join us next Friday, October 28th @ 9am.

 Check-in: Check-in on Friday morning will be from 8-9am upstairs on the 3rd floor in front of the Student Union Ballrooms, Building 58W/Rm 3703. Please arrive with enough time to grab a little breakfast prepared by Chartwells, and find a seat. Also, remember to use this time to network. It could be a game changer! Make sure to complete the sign-in sheet at your table.

Summit Opening: The Summit will begin promptly at 9am. Dr. Bremley Lyngdoh’s presentation will begin at 9:15am. We strongly suggest that you arrive by this point and plan to stay for the entire event. However, if you are unable to stay for the entire day please do not let our suggestion deter you from attending. We want you to come no matter how long you are able to stay. We truly believe you will leave the Summit with information that will have a tremendous impact on your evolution as a leader.

Summit Program: The Summit’s theme, “Initiative to Innovation: YOUR Commitment to Action and Leadership,” will focus on the many ways in which one’s personal inner drive can be channeled to create remarkable change through new ideas and innovative action. Dr. Bremley Lyngdoh, a global leader in environmental sustainability, will facilitate summit participants in an engaging and interactive process as attendees explore thy dynamics of “raising the bar” through initiative and innovation. Participants will leave feeling inspired and emboldened to lead through passion and commitment to the values that drive them.

 Parking: If you have a UNF parking pass, please park in the area your pass allows. If you do not have a UNF parking pass, you can purchase a 1-day $5 pass at the Parking Services Building located at the main entrance to campus off I-295 (Building 52 on the campus map) and then part in the Arena Parking Garage (Building 38).  Attire: Please dress in “business casual” attire.

 Name Badges: If you have a name badge from your work, an organization you are involved with, etc. please wear it.

 What to Bring: Please remember to bring paper and pen to take notes. This day will be packed with valuable information for you to refer back to as you grow into the leader you are called to be.

Luncheon Reception Following: Immediately following the Summit please join us for a reception catered by our community partner, Bono’s Pit Bar-B-Q. We hope that you take this time to network with other attendees, community leaders, the keynote speaker, and the Taylor Leadership Institute’s faculty and staff. Use this time to make connections, as you never know when a connection may lead to an internship or career opportunity.

And Remember to Have FUN!! This day is entirely about your growth and development into the leader we know you are. Come prepared to have Fun! Take risks, step out of your comfort zone, and be ready to lead…
