Policy on Course Progress in Health Care Risk Management
The purpose of the Policy is to ensure that:
  • The student is committed to making steady progress through the curriculum and will complete the course in 4-6 months.
  • The Instructors are committed to monitor student progress, provide timely feedback and consultation as needed.
Progress is defined as completing and submitting unit exercises. We expect students to complete at least one exercise every two-weeks on an ongoing basis until the entire program is completed.
If we do not receive one unit exercise at least every two weeks you will receive an e-mail from the course coordinator to request an update on your status and why you are not making progress. If you do not respond to our email within 10 business days you will receive a certified letter to the address on record indicating that you have been temporarily suspended from the program. If you do not respond to that certified letter within 10 days you will be removed from the program. You will then have to apply for re-admission.
Suspension/Re-admission: (see Policy on Course Progress):
To be readmitted to the program you must write to the course coordinator and indicate that you understand how USF Health care Risk Management program defines progress and that you agree to meet the progress requirements of the program. You will also be required to submit a specific timeframe for completion of the course.
Leave of Absence:
If a student experiences extenuating circumstances and is not able to make regular progress then the student is required to apply for a leave of absence. The course instructor will make the decision to approve a leave of absence for a reasonable period of time.
