Player – Information Sheet

INFORMATION SHEET FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE NOMINEES

This information sheet outlines the conditions, cost estimates and nominee responsibilities you must consider and abide by if you wish to represent New South Wales Masters in any sanctioned event.

Most importantly all information requested must be provided within the timeframe stipulated by the Men’s Masters Sub Committee to ensure you are eligible for selection in a NSW Masters hockey team.

Conditions of Nomination:

All nominees must complete the player nomination form in full and the completed form is to be lodged with the NSW Masters Secretary two weeks prior to playing in a state age championship

All nominees must ensure that they have made the appropriate enquires regarding time off to participate in the full term of their championships.

All current forms will be available on the HNSW website in addition to being provided by the team manager andshould be electronically returned as a Word document by the nominated date (no scanning, photographs, PDF and must not be handwritten). NO SIGNATURE is required to nominate.

Selector’sIdentification Bands:

All players who have nominated for State Selectionare to wear an identifying band to assist the Selectors in their duties. Managers will collect the band from the TD’s AT EACH State Championships and distribute them to the nominating players in their teams. All bands remain the property of NSW Masters andthey are to return to the TDs at the completion of the Championships without exception.

Dates and Venue:

The 2018 Australian Masters Championships will be held jointly by Lismore and Ballina on the NSW North Coast. Below dates that your committee has been advised of and are broken up in the following ages:-

Please be aware that the Championships start one week prior to the NSW School Holidays.

You will be required to arrive in Lismore/Ballina a minimum of 2 days before your competition begins to settle into accommodation and take part in training (training times are unknown at this stage and will not be known until closer to the event). For the 50s and above it is that the training day to be held in Grafton on Sunday 23/9/18. ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE AT ALL SCHEDULEDTRAINING SESSIONS.

Age Divisions:

Depending on nominations NSW hope to select teams in the following age divisions–over 35, over 40 (2 teams), over 45 (2 teams), over 50 (2 teams), over 55 (2/3 teams), over 60 (2 teams), over 65, over 70 and an over 75.

Availability:

All team members must be available for the entire period of the championships or the period nominated by HNSW Men’s MastersSubcommittee which includes your scheduled training day on the Friday or Sunday.

State Training:

Training/gameswill be at Newcastle Sunday 19th August 2018 – this is compulsory and the last chance to pick up your uniforms. To assist players in travelling etc to training a $100.00 subsidy amount will be afforded to them and this will be deducted off the Players levy fee. If a player does not attend training, he has not incurred any travel costs and thereforeis not entitled to the subsidy.

Acceptance fee:

All players selected to represent NSW Men’s Masters must pay a $200 acceptance fee within 14 days of selection.You will receive aninvoice via Hockey NSW Finance and payment will be credited against your team levy. The payment of this fee is your acknowledgement to NSW Masters Committeethat you officially accept the selected position.

Non-payment of the acceptance fee within the stipulated timeframe will result in the playerbeing withdrawn and replaced. All fees MUST be paid by the due date on the invoice. Do not assume it is okay to let the due date pass without paying your acceptance fee. If you are unable to meet this due date you must contact the Masters Coordinator before the date falls due.

Withdrawal from a team after selection and acceptance payment may result in loss of the acceptance fee and/or an administration fee.

Team Levy:

A player levy of $650 has been applied however each player (who attends training) will be subsidised by $100 from the HNSW Men’s Masters Reserves to assist the players with costs of travelling to State Training at Newcastle in August.

This levy will apply to all players and is formulated to cover the costs of managers, medical staff, umpires & to meet tournament entry fees, after match hospitality and various other running costs.

Final Payment:

The final levy and any other cost items invoiced through HNSW Men’s Masters must be paid in full by Friday 10th August 2018. Failure to meet these deadlines may result in you being withdrawn from the team with no refund of any kind. You will receive further advice from the Coordinator and/or through your team manager following your selection.

Accommodation:

There is an understanding that ideally all participants will stay at HNSW arranged accommodation. In this way team unity can be maintained and overall management of the teams will be most efficient and economical. You are fully responsible for the payment of accommodation. You may if you wish arrange your own accommodation. Please make sure that the dates correspond with your training commitments for the National Championships.

Accommodation has been arranged through ourtravel agent, Sportslink. Costs will vary depending on the apartment configuration. We have secured a varied type of accommodation from Apartments to Holiday Parks. Please note that accommodation is limited due to the high demand from all the participating states.

Your committee has secured excellent prices based on our numbers - cost per person will vary per person per night depending on chosen accommodation and room configuration.

You will be required to book online through Sportlink and you will receive a $200.00 invoiced from Sportslinkfor the booking. Neither HNSW Men’s Masters nor other players sharing the accommodation with you will be covering any accommodation costs should you withdraw. It is strongly suggested that you take out travel insurance to recover any costs should you withdraw from the team.

Payment for accommodation will be through Sportslink infull,approximately 1 month from the commencement of the Championships. You will receive a final invoice from Sportlink with full details and payment date.

Travel:

All members selected will be responsible for their own travel to and from Lismore/Ballina.

Transport:

Team buses will not be allocated this year due to the Championships being held in NSW. Players will be responsible for arranging their own transport during these National Championships.

Uniforms:

This year a new playing strip will be required. The uniform/gear orders will be completed on line through Xpress Promotions. Payment will be required at the time of ordering. It is imperative that all players physically try on the uniforms/gear that will be available in various sizes at each of the State Championships through the Masters Coordinator Tony Nixon 0417 217 651. If you do not try on the gear and purchase the wrong size then there is no exchange.

The only items that will be ordered through the Coordinator will be the Kiddies supporter’s shirts.

Technical Officers 2018 National Championships

There is an expectation from Australian Masters Hockey Committee that each participating team will assist in being technical officers at this years Nationals. Further information will be forthcoming.

The estimates provided may alter and all members will be advised should this occur.
