7th Grade Side Line Cheer

We are excited you have chosen to participate in cheerleading during the Fall 2014 season! Attached you will find a tentative schedule. Throughout the season we will continue to communicate any changes.

Attire

Please arrive dressed and ready to participate. You will need shirt, shorts, supportive shoes and to bring your own water bottle.

Physicals

A physical is REQUIRED in order to practice and compete. Please have your physical completed and in the office prior to the first day of practice. A physical can be conducted by your physician. Contact the office if you need more information.

Eligibility

You must maintain your GPA to maintain your eligibility, see the Student Code of Conduct for eligibility requirements. If you are ineligible you are required to attend meets to support your team members.

Practice /Schedule

Practices will start Aug. 25th and run Monday through Friday 4:15pm-6:15pm in the café at the Rolland-Warner Campus. All parents are expected to pick their child up on time from both practice and games. Students are dismissed from practice at Rolland-Warner at 6:15pm.

Games

The team will be cheering at Lapeer 7th grade football games this season. All home games will start at 4:45pm and be played at the CFI (West) Campus field. If cheerleaders attend away games, on the bus ride home, students will begin calling parents to notify them that they will be back at Rolland-Warner within 20 minutes. Coach does expect students to be picked up within 15 minutes ofthe bus having arrived back at school. Late pick-ups will cause an inconvenience for everyone and their families.

Athletic Clearance

School administration will be holding athletic clearance at the Zemmer Campus the week of Aug. 11th-15th during regular school hours (8am-2:30pm) and until 4pm on Thursday Aug. 14th. At this time, student athletes can turn in their physical, student code of conduct and permission to treat cards. Students will also be academically cleared to participate in athletics.

ImPACT Testing

All 7th grade athletes will be required to complete ImPACT testing prior to the start of fall practices. Any incoming 8th grade student who did not participate in athletic as a 7th grader will also be required to complete the ImPACT test. ImPACT testing is a baseline concussion test that is administered on the computers taking about an hour to complete. ImPACT testing will be provided at Zemmer the week of Aug. 11th-15th.
