7th Grade Math – Mrs. Edmondson

Welcome to Willow Wood Junior High and 7th grade math! My teaching philosophy is that ALL of my students will achieve at high levels and I will do whatever it takes to get them there! My hope is to provide a safe, positive learning environment where my students can experience learning as an adventure of discovery, enlightenment, and growth. Our curriculum is designed and implemented to meet the Texas Essential Knowledge Skills (TEKS) for 7th grade.

**Problem solving applications are integrated within all units. **


Tutoring: Tutoring is available Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7:15 am.

Homework: Homework is very important to success in mathematics. It will be used as a tool to reinforce daily concepts and/or to explain your application skills used in class. As a result, homework will be checked and assessed as an effort grade. Students will be encouraged to write their assignments down in a planner.

Quizzes: Lesson quizzes and warm-up quizzes will be given periodically as a review over previously covered material.

What to Bring: Math Textbook, Interactive Notebook (spiral or composition notebook), pencil, and a folder or binder to keep worksheets in.

Grading Policy: Major Grades 60% - Tests and Projects,

Daily Grades 40% - Homework, Quizzes, and Classwork

**Progress reports and report cards are sent home with students every 3rd, 6th, and 9th week respectively. I will return phone calls and/or emails within 24 hours unless I am absent
