8th grade lesson calendar 2016-17

TEXT USED: Pflaum’s Gospel Weeklies –

adjunct text - Sadlier’s “We Live Our Faith as Disciples of Jesus”

TEACHERS – Madeline Rice & Georgia Dudley

Because this program will be lectionary based and current, I don’t know ahead of time what it will discuss besides the Gospel! It doesn’t begin until mid-September, though, so because of the assessments this year I would say to spend the first few weeks doing things out of the catechetical book they provide! We are going to have to try the assessments as often as possible during the year to be sure the students will be prepared come April. You can also start on the first two themes FSGC - For September and October, they say “We Can Trust our Instincts” and they discuss Secrets, Good Touch – Bad Touch, Trusted Adults. At the end of the calendar I am putting a list of video clips from Chosen that Theresa Stamegna and I thought would be better for 8th grade; take a look and let me know ahead of time if you want to use one, then I can arrange to have it available for you!
