Cell Phone Use

Cell phones will be collected at the beginning of class and returned to the student when class dismisses. Many of my lessons will require devices to be used in the classroom, and only then will cell phones be permitted.

Supplies

-Your one inch binder will stay in my classroom at all times. You will be responsible for keeping all of your work, neatly organized, in this binder.

-Your writing journal and interactive writing notebook will stay in my classroom unless you need it to review for a test.

-It is your responsibility to keep up with your writing journal and writing notebook. If you lose your writing journal or notebook, it will be your responsibility to come and collect what you need, on your own time.

Bathroom Passes

You will receive 3 bathroom passes per 9 weeks in my English class. You will only be allowed to leave the room to use the restroom if you are working on an independent assignment or have completed your work. You will not be allowed to use a bathroom pass during a test, quiz, or group activity.

Turning in assignments

You are responsible for turning your assignments into your class period’s completed assignments basket, in front of my desk. Each basket is labeled by class period, and it is your job to make sure your assignment is turned into the correct one.

Absences

If you are absent from my class, you will receive your ABSENCE folder when you return. Inside the folder will be an assignment sheet, with all of the work you missed, attached.

You will have as many days to complete and return your work, as you were absent. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to get, complete, and return the work you missed, due to absence.
